We need to break the trend, we need ourselves and Sunderland to be taking points from the likes of West Ham and Everton, we need two new fresh faces in the Championship

    Back to the OP
Ristac, As a young kid I wanted an air rifle, so my dad said ok as long as you join a club.
So he took me to a local one, I was 12, the first comment I heard from one of the team was, 'bring him back when he doesn’t have to shoot uphill ' What a great way to encourage kids to take up a sport!
I got to be quite good and was always on the team and surprised a lot of folk as I was so young, not least the old fecker who dissed me the 1st day.
I guess the tech has moved on but the practice, breathing etc must still be the same.
Let me know what you bought and I will check it out.
You never know I might get back into it.

The vast majority of players took a 50% salary cut when relegated. Obviously, this goes back up now!

Our benchmark this season is Wolves I reckon. We need to finish one place above them.

I’ve been in and out of their transfer thread, they’ve been mentioning him for a while and they seem quite excited to be signing him. It’s a strange one, they get excited over every signing, even if it’s not a first team one.

Someone commented what a miserable bunch we are over here as we moan about ones we get and ones we don’t and that there is a general lack of enthusiasm. Not those exact words but along those lines.

There is a handful of Neanderthals over there, but in general a good bunch, a couple of guys who watch a lot of world football and very knowledgeable on most players linked

Sunderland’s buying power helped by £40m for Bellingham and £10m for Watson

I had an air pistol as a teenager, no idea why my parents let me have one, I certainly wasn’t responsible enough, it was a BSA that weighed a ton. The local sports club had what they call a big bash day, free for kids to try various sports, the adjoining gun club had an open day, a blue plaque unveil of our gold medal Olympic winner Matt Skelhon who trained there.

I took my grandson as he was actually interested in cricket but often lets shyness get in the way. I also fancied a go on the rifle range and I enjoyed it, he’s only 6 next week but he loved the rifle range too (Thursday evening they have kids practice only between 4pm and 7pm)

I’ve been 4 times now, I thought it would be a bit clique but they’re a really friendly bunch. I’m lucky, we have a monster of a garden, 3/4 is more woodland style I realise the club guns are decent but the scopes need adjusting for my wayward eye and I need some practice so off I went to the gun shop.

I came out poorer but my excuse was the salesman was excellent, I’ve learned in the past not to buy something to begin with that I can move up from, I end up regretting it less than 3 months later. I’ll never be entering competitions unless they are local club ones so I ended up with an Air Arms S510 R Core. It should last me

I nearly got a Weihrauch and they guy in the shop advised Weihrauch if ever I was going to hunt rabbits and pigeons which I’m not, the air arms for target shooting

We’ve told the grandson, keep it up and get your 20th visit (need to do 20 before full membership) and we’ll look at getting him a junior one.

I’ve seen this quoted on here and the associated media coverage. All this might be accurate but until all the cogs mesh, they’d be foolish imo to be bringing someone in until everyone sure it’s sorted properly :emoticon-0148-yes:

Yeah but they also needed to replace 2 of their best players with that money. then also have to find 20pts with us and Burnley then the added Prem survival plan.

Let’s be honest out transfer window so far has been dull and uninspiring and not what many hoped for. We gotta hope there is a hell of a lot more to come before start of season but so far we’ve only attracted players no other pl club seemed interested in

I was reading an article that said this season, Leeds conceded 30 goals, it would have been a record if it wasn’t for Burnley and it was trying to hint our defence is fairly good.

Meslier is entering his final year, if we offer a new contract I’ll be spitting nails, for PSR it means he has a book value of £300k so anything over is PSR profit

I also read Underwood is refusing to pay anything over the clubs market value and we shouldn’t believe rumours that we push on with players who show no interest in joining, the big Brazilian keeper we supposedly moved on from him the moment he said he’d prefer to play in Italy

It also mentioned Habib, we went to £20m discussed terms and left the offer on the table but when Sunderland went to £30m we moved on.

Longstaff we have gone to £12m but it said we’ve went back three times and won’t be going back a fourth, unless Newcastle change their mind we’re pursuing other targets.

It all sounds okay(ish) but why chase one target at a time, very little talk on strikers

We’re similar ages I think Risty… it was pretty much the norm when we were kids to have air rifles and pistols.

in the days before Xboxes you made do with a football, an action man, a stretch Armstrong and an air pistol.

I had a BSA air rifle myself. Traded it in for an AK47

That was another thing I was reading, Sunderland need to close the gap they can’t hang about in the market hence they’re willing to pay above current market value, no doubt their fans would disagree and they’d also say they eased off and the 20 point gap was false

As things stand at present in transfers I can’t see anything other than the three promoted sides going back down Ristac. Gap too wide and we’re not even as good as side that finished last season with Solomon not replaced yet

I also remember the bionic man toy with roll up skin on his arm and a hole in the head to look through his bionic eye. Making caves and dens for my action men with stacks of beano and dandy annuals.

When a mate showed me how to make a peg gun with two elastic bands and the metal inners of a peg, I still have no idea how I didn’t take someone’s eye out

My personal Look on our transfers we want.

Nick Pope (Newcastle) G/K "WAITING" for the toon to sign Trafford. conflicting reports on Pope wanting to stay or go. the big say will be when/If Trafford arrives.
Sean Lonstaff C/M (Newcastle) "WAITING" Again waiting for the toon to budge first. no other interest in him going around the boards I think another £1m will get our man but we playing hardball in a who gives in first.
Anton Stach C/M (Hoffieheim) coming from the Leeds side of the media we are interested but are yet to decide on Activating his fee.
Emiliano Buendia A/M (Villa) Think we want him infront of Hamer don't understand the waiting maybe its a fee again but i personally believe we want him 1st and Hamer is our backup.
Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham) "Top target" offers been in. waiting to see if Fulham buy any more strikers and will push again.

Could be all bullshyte but that's what's going around my head.
