    My money is on Shehu as well... caught him playing for the U18s away at Colchester early in the season and he stood out by a mile. Jagielka found the back of the net (as he seemed to every game around that time) but was otherwise pretty anonymous, but then again that's what good goalscorers do.

    Hull City defender Alfie Jones is attracting serious interest from a Championship rival with the club vice captain potentially about to end his five-year stay at the MKM Stadium.

    Hull Live has learned Middlesbrough have informed City of their interest in the player, with talk of a potential £2m switch to the Riverside Stadium. Boro sacked manager Michael Carrick during the summer, with Rob Edwards now in charge and handed a transfer kitty to help reshape the squad for a tilt at promotion.

    Embargo, or no embargo, I'd take £2m for Alfie all day long.

    More departures are expected with Gustavo Puerta and Steven Alzate both linked away, as has previously been reported, while Abu Kamara has been linked with Rangers, Cody Drameh with Charlton Athletic and Abdulkadir Omur with Turkish side Antalyaspor.

    It is our understanding Blackburn Rovers, who made clear their interest in Sean McLoughlin last summer, are still keeping an eye on the player and the situation at City, with the Tigers possibly needing to be ready for an offer from Lancashire, too. Losing Jones and McLoughlin would leave City with John Egan, Charlie Hughes and new signing Semi Ajayi as the club's senior centre defence options.

    As he said at the Q and A, we were always going to sell 5 or 6. Outside of those who had already made their intentions clear, the Manager would also have a say after having an opportunity to assess the squad who was surplus to requirements.

    Maybe it's unavoidable in our situation but losing Jones and McLoughlin really isn't good at all. They're underrated by our fans and people think we can do better but they're the ones that play every week and don't let us down. Really it's them who can do better than us at this point.

    But maybe this was the plan all along with us signing Ajayi, as some people hinted towards at the time.

    How much did we have to pay him out for sacking him? How much compensation did we have to pay to get Jakirovic out of his Turkish club? How much salary are we paying him?
