Acun looking for a buyer.

Obviously it would be better to not get relegated. But unless there is some miracle investment or we manage to get promoted, what’s happening isn’t sustainable in the next 6 months let alone the whole season.

 

Or saying negative things about the Turkish deity?

 

I mean, if i bought Liverpool, sold all the players to pay back the debt owed to the current owners and banks and in the meantime, took the club down to League One with crowds dropping to 10k, that wouldn't make me a good owner. And neither was Ehab. It isn't a duality where the current bad owner, forgives the previous. Ehab was ****. Acun looking increasingly so at this moment in time.

Debt in itself isn't a problem, lots of businesses function in debt and it is tax efficient as such. The issue is servicing the debt. The transfer business, salaries and managerial changes has ****ed the debt situation, if the last weeks reports are true. I don't think having a CEO would have helped, as clearly Acun as the money man has been in the driving seat.

Worrying times and another summer where the hope for the new season is tainted.

Bingo. I said a few months ago when people were citing our debt that the interest on our debt was minimal so servicing it wasn't the issue.. that was not in relation to the football debts we owe though and the cash flow implications. Servicing the debt is a crucial element.

 

As I've said before,the worry is how much we're prepared to drop the price tag by to get the cash flowing again.These Clubs sniffing around are fully aware of our vulnerability and the bids will mirror that...

Flip side,we're having to deal in loans for incomings and we're going to get ****ed over the bonnet by excessive wage demands.

That’s not really what happened with the Allams though is it?

They also got us three promotions an FA Cup final and our only ever trip to Europe, they literally oversaw the best decade in the clubs history. When the relationship soured they stopped bank rolling the club and made it self-sufficient, whilst that’s not a recipie for on field success it is a sensible way to manage a club you’re trying to sell, ask Sheff Wednesday fans if they would prefer that to their current situation.

I’m by no means a fan of them as people, I think their ego was on par Acuns, but they took over a club on the verge on bankruptcy, gave it the most successful decade it’s ever had and then left it with no debt for next owner.

 

If you look at objectively from what they bought to what they sold they did a good job as custodians of the club.

That doesn’t mean to say it wasn’t miserable and frustrating at times!

I also think they were particularly vengeful and spiteful people. To be fair to Acun, whilst he’s doing a poor job of running a football club, I don’t believe he’s a bad person, he’s just out of his depth.

 

That’s true. They were also, by and large, quite good at picking managers. However, for the non-silent majority of fans they made supporting the club a complete pain and sucked the life out of it like vampires. Getting rid of concessions and trying to erase our historic name being perhaps the two best examples of their ****housery. I was and am still very pleased to see the back of them. In some ways, however, Acun is proving himself worse which was a jolly hard thing to achieve, but is perhaps his biggest ‘achievement’ as Hull City owner.

That’s a fair point, he had the potential to turn nasty if it looks like he won’t get his money back, I hope it’s not the case but I wouldn’t rule it out!

 

Heard from an employee at the Stadium a couple of years ago that he was fairly dismissive to his staff and couldn't care less about their loyalty and length of service...

 

by selling off all our better players and getting us relegated to League 1 - having said that, the debt under Bruce went to £100 million and having got us relegated and lost the battle for Hull Tigers, Allam's only ambition was to get his money back which he did by leaving us with debts of £30 million, which he wrote off, in return for Acun paying £30 million for the club - leaving Allam neutral, which to be fair was some doing- even though he benefitted from huge transfer fees for Maguire, Bowen, Clucas. Long etc and all the parachute money - on the other hand Acun has benefitted from Greaves and KLP although not sure if Allam benefitted from part of that sale

 

We should ban Allam from the chat. He got all his money back and more, is still pulling money from the club, he left the club in a healthy state. I don’t want him anywhere near the club again. His old man was a decent bloke and a good chairmen.

 

I have a question, we were told that the EFL was approving every deal & Acun was on probation, so how the **** did we end up in the ****e. Was it a lie or was the EFL negligent ???

 

Can’t wait to hound the next owners out. Probably for not spending enough money.

This is the grossest thing. Everyone just wants the owners to spend spend spend on transfer fees and judges owners like the Allams as **** because they didn't. They were **** for other reasons (season ticket fees, treatment of staff, etc.) but this insistence in football that owners should plunge clubs to the brink to spend and this is the only acceptable measure of an owner until spending doesn't bring success and then the owner is **** for putting the club in jeopardy, I just don't know why anyone would be an owner these days.

For me, an owner that spends within their means, has the club competitive in the league, and has a long term vision for the club in terms of infrastructure development is far more preferable. Look at a Preston for instance. It's probably boring for their fans, but not throwing the club's existence into jeopardy is a pretty acceptable trade off for a boring season.
