Agreed, I don't mind debate, it's when it gets nasty or rude that it becomes unacceptable. Having a different opinion to someone doesn't make you smug, full of yourself or worse.
I know some don't think it's feasible that anyone would be so profligate, but there's plenty of precedent in football. I guess the thrill of it takes over and there is always one last roll of the dice to get you out of trouble, at least until someone intervenes or you hit rock bottom anyway.
I'm not sure what way he turns now. The debt is mounting and I'm beginning to think(like many others) that it's out of control and he can't fix it.If he stays he runs the risk of losing more of his personal fortune,if he goes(and now),he stands a chance of recovering some of his losses. I'll be honest,I never really took to him(so yes, some of this is based on a personal dislike which isn't ideal in terms of balanced view).I'd heard a few bits and bobs about him in the early days that didn't sit well with me,watched him dispose of manager after manager and player after player and I couldn't believe the amount of people who thought the sun shone out of his backside. That said,I wouldn't like to see him lose a substantial percentage of his personal wealth...Best(I think) for all of us if he puts the Club up for sale, tries to salvage at least part of his investment and moves back to his real daytime job...His dabble into the English Championship has flopped spectacularly and we can only hope for someone with money to burn to salvage this clusterfuck.
Pretty much how I feel I don’t like salesmen apart from look back in amber obvs And he came across as a smarmy salesman to me needing to be loved So ye I hope he goes quickly
Good for them, genuinely. I can’t stand the ****s but I don’t get any pleasure at all from seeing them run into the ground by Chansiri.
I loathe cheap populism and he always struck me as ‘style over substance’. The free holidays, the schmoozing in Botanic and with the supporters in general and the grandiose promises just made me cringe. He’s a snake oil salesman.
Do the ITKers know of any interest in anyone buying the club recently. I just want a bit of hope. I would be happy with relegation and still have a club this time next year.
I believe the fee restriction is intended as punishment due to gaining a potential competitive advantage. I guess theoretically we could beat another club to a signing by agreeing to scheduled payments over a shorter period, then renege. There was also something about in getting it overturned we would have to prove it is down to not receiving income that was supposed to be there in time but wasn't, as opposed to just not having the money so agreeing with the club to pay late. In our situation, we could well be looking to sign players with money that should have been paid to other clubs prior. That would be a potential advantage over those who pay their debts and budget accordingly. I'm far from an expert here, but EFL rules are generally there to protect against gaining a financial advantage over competitors and also to save clubs from themselves when acting unsustainably. Realistically though, it's one for the lawyers and who knows what the appeal outcome is going to be. 1, 2 or 3 windows and that's hoping this is the end of it. But I can't see it.
Talking of 'competitive advantage'.... mentioned this before have Leicester not got some kind of impending punishment coming...?
