What we want and we we need are never the same, just because you want a player doesnt mean the club feels the same. so far happy with what we have brought in, few more additons and we will be fine
Sometimes these narratives can travel quick, I haven't watched him enough since he left Liverpool to know though.
If RLB doesn’t think he fits then that’s more than enough reason not to sign him I totally agree.. but if he was open to the idea I can’t see how having that much experience around these lads would’ve been a bad thing. I do hope we get some experience in now though, a bit younger but who can play 90 mins every week. Seasoned CB would be a massive plus imo just no idea who.
Its rare we make 5 signings in a row (6 if you include ELF) that are universally liked by a fanbase. We often do make a bit of a surprising "eh?" type signing. See Poveda. I hope we avoid one this summer but it stands to reason at some point this summer we will sign somebody that isn't as popular with fans.
Not for me. I just feel we have to always do what's best for us and just signing a player because he is a Sunderland lad doesn't do it for me I also think Brentford is probably a better move for him tbh so will help him more with his England chances
Trying to coax out the contradictions, if it's all business relocating the training ground to London would probably be smart, but I imagine most would be against it. Where's the line? let's find it!
I def want some experience in the squad as well, as long as players that fit our playing style I also want some british lads signed as well
Interesting Keith said Sadiki and Diarra were at the SOL earlier in the week. Maybe it wasn't Diarra.
We do have Reinildo now as well. Obviously not as experienced as Hendo but still brings experience in France (including in a title-winning Lille side) and Spain. I would like an older English player as well. Feel it would round out the leadership structure well.
maybe its just the way that tweet is phrased. "touched down on weirside" sounds like he's just arrived full stop. Either way if he was here earlier I reckon he was training whether he was allowed to or not, he just hid from sky cameras
even then Keith said Sadiki and Diarra's work permits were expected "this afternoon". Maybe they took longer.
