Well with just over a month until the start of the new season, it's time to forget about who is signing who, and lets see if the improvements I have made over the last 2 years to my football predictions program is any more accurate. ( Slight spoiler having seen some of the results so far, I would suggest there is no improvement at all, it may have actually got worse ) So Game Week 1 sees the Mighty Whites entertain Everton at Elland Road, and a rousing rendition of "I Predict a Riot" after Daniel Farke's side coast to a 2-0 victory (Spoilers, that's a more impressive victory than you may imagine ) Newly promoted Burnley collapse to a 4-0 defeat away to Spurs, whilst the other newcomers, Sunderland succumb to a 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham. Current Champions Liverpool romp to a 6-1 at home to Bournemouth Game Week 2 Leeds travel to London for their first away game of the season, which sees Arsenal start with 2 draws out of 2, as Leeds earn a plucky point with a 1 - 1 draw. The other 2 newly promoted sides meet at Turf Moor, where Burnley come away with all 3 points, following a 2-1 victory Only Newcastle and West Ham have a 100% record of wins after 2 games, with Newcastle thrashing Liverpool at St James Park 4-0, whilst West Ham storm to victory by 4 goals to 1 at home to Chelsea. Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Brighton still have to pick up a point after 2 games. Game Week 3 Both 100% records fall this week, as West Ham are held to a draw away at Nottingham Forest, whilst Leeds United held on for a 1-0 win at home to Newcastle, which takes the Whites to joint top of the table, together with West Ham on 7 points. Current champions Liverpool, are beaten at home against Arsenal 1-3. Brighton gain their first points of the season, strolling to a 4-0 victory at home to Manchester City, whilst Sunderland gain their first win of the season, beating Brentford 1-0. Game Week 4 West Ham moved clear at the top of the league with a 3-0 home victory over Spurs, whilst Leeds United had to settle for a share of the points, after their second trip to London, where they drew 2-2 away at Fulham. Sunderland failed to gain any points following their trip to F A Cup holders Crystal Palace, where the home team won 2-0, whilst Burnley held out at home to Liverpool for a 1-1 draw. Summary after 4 Games West Ham are top of the table on 10 points following 3 wins and a draw, whilst Leeds United are in 2nd place on 8 points, ahead of both Arsenal and Scum on goal difference. Leeds are 1 of 4 sides without a loss with West Ham, Arsenal and Scum, also yet to fail to pick up at least a point in any of their 4 opening games. Poor starts for both Liverpool and Manchester City, see them in 14th and 16th position, both having gained 4 points. Newcomers Burnley have also gained 4 points and occupy 17th, 1 point ahead of both Sunderland and Everton on 3 points. Nottingham Forest remain firmly planted at the bottom of the table, having only managed 1 point from their opening 4 games. Matches 5 - 8 will be posted tomorrow. Don't get too excited
Game Week 5 Leeds maintained their unbeaten record with a 2-0 away win at Wolves, whilst both Burnley and Sunderland recorded home wins The Merseyside derby ended in a goalless draw, and Manchester City slipped into the relegation zone after a 4-2 defeat away to Arsenal Game Week 6 Leeds succumbed to their first defeat of the season, losing out in a 5 goals thriller at Elland Road, with Bournemouth earning the 3 points with a 3-2 victory. West Ham and Arsenal also had their first defeats of the season, West Ham losing 3-1 away at Everton, whilst Newcastle secured a 1-0 victory at home to Arsenal. Nottingham Forest got their first win of the season, with a 1-0 home victory against Sunderland, whilst Manchester City remain in the relegation places, after a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley Game Week 7 A 2nd consecutive home defeat for the Whites, following a 1-0 defeat against Spurs, see Leeds drop to 6th in the table. Arsenal leapfrog West Ham at the top of the table, after beating West Ham by 4 goals to 0, at the Emirates Stadium. Nottingham Forest remain bottom of the league, after an exciting but unrewarding 4-3 loss away to Newcastle, with Manchester City and Sunderland 2 points ahead of Forest, along with Liverpool, who reside in 17th position. Game Week 8 Leeds fail to gain any points in their 3rd game running, when they lose 1-0 away to Burnley. Last seasons Championship play off winners Sunderland, battle out a 3-3 draw at home to Wolves, which sees Sunderland drop into 19th place, following Nottingham Forests 4-0 victory at home to Chelsea. Manchester City's poor start to the season continues, as they lose 2-1 at home to Everton, and see the blue side of Manchester propping up the rest of the division. For the 2nd week running, the league leaders lose to the team that replaces them at the top of the table, when Fulham come out ahead in their home clash with Arsenal, by 4 goals to 1. Summary after 8 Games After a fine start, 3 consecutive defeats have seen Leeds drop from 2nd to 11th in the table. Of the other newly promoted clubs, Sunderland remain 1 point ahead of Manchester City in 19th place, whilst Burnley are in 14th place, one of five clubs on 11 points. Fulham gain top spot with 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 games, with both Arsenal and West Ham a point behind. Everton also put together a run of 3 wins and 1 draw, which has seen them move from 19th in the table to 6th. Champions Liverpool poor start to the season continues, with their 9 points gained this season, only good enough for 16th position.
I don't need any stimulants to act like I do However I am bored of fantasy transfer news, so decided fantasy football results was the way forward, same as I did when we were last in the Premier League
