Been a bad news week for us here [ family] amongst other things my 20 year old GD has just been confirmed with CELIAC'S ... THERE IS MANY I COULD WISH THAT ON! I say could! ... life is sometimes very unfair, she had everything going for her, world class dancer with a wall full of trophies and certificates, had alternative plans for work etc and ............ ... and now 2 serious health issues the other still be tested to confirm exactly what it is.
tnx for the thoughts ANGEL.... no it is a condition [ CELIAC ] that is an intolerance to Gluten, funny thing is though the other problem she has [ over 18 month's known? " ] did tag the Celiac it was her "own" doctor going through her files that noted the "tag" had not been acted on... the problem of having appointments with anyold tom dick and Harry purporting to be a Doctor!!!!!! my hip was for over 5 years [ started started feeling in 2009 operated 2019 ] just a keep on taking the tablets as was 5 years since saw my own Doctor!!!!!!!!!! her other condition started off as MS, got refined to something else is now still after 7 month's waiting to see specialist, has had 3 "attacks since!!!!!! " still dont know what it is!
Don’t you mean Coeliac I have that, it’s not as bad the diet compared to what it was when I was diagnosed, late 90’s early 2000’s. Expensive but it’s more catered for now. I do struggle with snacks if I’m out and about. So you need to take stuff with you. ( twix gluten free cookies are lush though) Good luck to your GD, there are plenty of support groups that can help and like I said it’s not that bad nowadays. It was horrible but there are a lot of nice foods. Once she’s fully on the diet fingers crossed she feels a lot better for it.
Yes the spelling was a bit deliberate ... but you are correct and thankyou very much for your comments ....... On my Tuesday night foray, one of the team is /has connections to 2 COELIAC sufferers. One is a doctor who treats his friend. He had a lot of to say about it and some of the problems encountered, but one thing he said was quite enlightening, the diagnosis and days after. GD was told 3 month's ago to continue on normal eating plan when it was first tagged. then test and then Monday got result ... positive ......... apparently the doctor explained tp my friends mate that he should not suddenly just go all gluten free, in fact if I understood it correctly not 100% . Part of the statement was that the body has already [ pre diagnosis ] had a "poor? tolerance to it, and the body has been fighting it. cutting out gluten free 100% means the body looses out on it's ability to "fight it????? " and it becomes a more intense battle????? ! My obvious Q was so does he "ignore" a small amount of gluten product ..daily /weekly/ ???? he said he didnt know but the explantion he was given? / understood? was it might be likely!! but would check with him. GD has yet to the dietician but have already started "apping" products for gluten content!
One in one out deal with the French How’s that smashing the gangs or reducing illegal migration ? And wait until the lefty lawyers say it’s against the law anyway ! Starmer and Macron both very unpopular in their respective countries Both are inept and on borrowed time as are the economies without radical changes
One in one out - I think it’s a legal one to replace an illegal one, I think the ideal is to discourage illegals and to encourage legal. Presumably if they’re legal they’ll be no need to house them whilst they’re waiting to be processed, and will mean they can work, earn money, and pay taxes. We’ll see.
50 migrants a week to be returned. 800 migrants arrive every week. Won't make a blind bit of difference to these chancers.
I’m fine with us taking in a genuine refugee, it's what we've always done and it's right. But for every one of those, there are hundreds or tens of thousands that don’t qualify They need to go back to one of the many safe countries they went through to get to the El Dorado of the UKs welfare and benefits system, or better still be turned back before they arrive in southern Europe. Even Macron says this, we make it a magnet to come here, so we’ve no one to blame but the Governments over the last 30 years Ann Widdicombe was saying exactly this back in 1999 ! If they arrive illegally they should never be allowed to stay, much less get money and all the other trappings Instead it’s a double whammy for the rest of us. They get given benefits and a nice hotel, free meals, free medical and dental care, then can earn hundreds or thousands of pounds a week working illegally for the likes of food delivery companies and not pay any tax or NI !!! Come on !! The whole system needs taking apart and being made fit for purpose including mass deportations to stop this country going bankrupt, and we're well on the way. Starmer was made to look pathetic by another failure in Macron Starmer out Farage in would be a good exchange in my opinion and a proper 1 out 1 in scenario.
The disappointing GDP figures, for the 2nd month in a row, show our economy is shrinking. So much for the Starmer/Reeves 'growth' mantra. The joke 1 in 1 out system agreed by Starmer and Macron announcement today is solely to bury the bad news on the economy.
And all the while an unpopular little Frenchman on behalf of the EU has the nerve to be lecturing Starmer and us on Brexit and immigration, even if he's right.
This 'agreement' has to be ratified by the rest of the EU. The Spanish are making 'waves' already, it won't be a surprise if Gibraltar gets mixed up in this before it's all over. And what about the unedifying man hugs between Starmer and Macron, stomach churning. Macron is playing Starmer and Starmer hasn't got a clue. Adil Ray, the ITV presenter needs to understand being unbiased in his role as interviewer. Not a surprise though, loves going on about his Pakistani background. Shame he wasn't on the box ITV the day they were discussing the Pakistani grooming gangs.
I completely agree they shouldn’t stay if they arrive illegally, the problem is there isn’t legal routes for a lot of them, if there was we could stop the illegal ones before they even arrive. It’s a very complex problem, I don’t claim to know the answer. I’m just very suspicious of anyone claiming there’s a simple fix.
I agree it's not easy. But, successive weak willed British Governments have made it a million times worse than it needs to be because they are afraid. Had someone with any cahones turned the boats around as soon as this started, no matter what the rest of the world thinks or any lawyers, we wouldn't be in this appalling and avoidable mess now At the very least we need to reduce benefits to zero for anyone coming here and detain them. Countries like Russia and Iran are sending people across the channel to disrupt our lives and plot terror attacks and its working. That's without the huge increase in crime and sexual assaults we've seen committed by these people.
