Given the clubs current transfer situation, this now seems extremely bizarre. Top quality player, going on loan again. Just don’t know why. Surely you tell him to get his head down and start performing.
I think the simple thing is Abdus wants to return to Turkiye to play, he is still under contract until June 2027. I think Acun was keen to get his wage / part of his wages off the monthly payroll.
It's easy to say he doesn't want to be here but how did that come to be? If he was playing every week for us, scoring goals and winning games I'm sure he'd now feel differently. But we messed him about like with so many players, let Tim Walter drain the life out of him, gave him little opportunity to succeed and he's never recovered. I keep saying it but this has been our achilles heel for the last couple of years, so much quality has passed in and back out of the club without getting chance to do anything positive.
All the time I hear people talk glowingly of Vaughan I wonder why. Often think it’s because he was ‘direct’ when he came into the team when at the time we were absolutely ****e and looked like we had no idea in the department (what’s changed). The fact he never got going at Bristol Rovers probably says it all. The lad may have all the technical ability he needs but he’s lightweight at best.
Abdus is a fantastic technical player who would do well in a side which controls the game and has more of the ball. Unfortunately we’re not going to be that. The performance at Cardiff away was superb and I thought we had a star. He’s a 30k+ a week player who needs multiple other ones around him to truly flourish.
I absolutely agree, but even a couple of times last season, he showed he is capable of making things happen in a cameo role. Under the current situation, with the number of subs allowed I would hang on to him purely to provide a bit of spark from the bench if nothing’s happening.
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-efl-appeal-latest-10331393 Grim reading, why is McBurnie on hold if we can still sign free agents? Surely if he's one of our top targets, we don't need to wait for the outcome of the appeal.
So when he goes somewhere else, as he always probably was, Acun can claim it wasn’t his fault & his loyal flock of followers can carry on worshipping him!
Cannot wait to hear the crock of **** names that are left as free agents beyond July that we are going to end up with.
