I reckon that's purely for the player's convenience when they're on "holiday". No point flying them over to have a medical here if we have trusted facilities more local to them.

My guess is he's seen someone training who we haven't announced yet, and has been told not to say anything.

Of course it might be a completely low profile player for the U21s and Downie is just enjoying trolling Sunderland fans.

If we're anticipating a big name keeper and Patto leaving, we could see the Lorient keeper come in as number 2, he's a free agent and worked with RLB for two seasons. Just throwing sh!t at the wall to see what sticks.

Not many free agents of note kicking around, smart money is on Henderson.

 

Hoping it's someone out of the left field. Petrovic feels unlikely. Georges I just can't see happening quickly if at all.

Henderson doesn't excite me on any level.

 

Get them over to Haven Haggerston Castle for a week with the seaside squad. Can pop down for the medicals then back up to Rory and friends.

 

Brings a **** load of experience mind, could do with a few kicking about the squad especially on a free

 

I don't and glad we aren't. No way I could justify roaring on someone on £400k a week.

 

I was against Henderson until we signed Diarra and Sadiki both of whom have huge engines and can do a lot of the running. Having Hendo behind them ticking things over, especially if Neil goes, could be a good fit for us, as long as we also get another "destroyer" type.
