This is your chance to have your say on those Global threads. So the question is Do you want the Global threads to remain or not?

    Interesting issue <ok>

They are good and bad in equal measure. They allow the whole forum to focus on one or two threads which get immediate attention. Therein lays the beauty and problem with this function.

I think the global threads should be submitted to super mods and admin to decide what goes up.

This sort of thing should probably be a global thread (at least for a couple of weeks) the forum games should have their own forum section (IE a section called forum games).

it all depends what the subject matter is for me, so i suppose i will vote for major events only, even though you have the global announcement for that.

Yes. Ignore it if you don't. A non-issue.

Yeah but some forums you have to scroll down half way. Not a issue on a General Chat but might be somewhere like the football teams forums where they have sticky's/global threads <ok>

Then the sticky's are the problem.

Replace "after Hours" with a "fun and Games " section
And Only use "Global threads" for important announcements regarding the site.
    ???
    <ok>

I understand that there will only ever be three global threads visable at any one time, so the whole board of each team is not going to get clogged up. You could have a separate area for Global Threads. The trouble is that a new global thread superceeds the previous one, so a glut of them could quite easily show three low quality / wum / inane threads and push a decent thread out of the way even if it's new.

Let me make it clear on behalf of the Sunderland FOOTBALL forum, we come on to talk about Sunderland Football Club. If we, the members of the Sunderland forum want one, two or twenty stickies we can have them, if we want to play some word games we are capable of finding them. We dont want them in our face every time we go onto our forum.

    Here is my idea:

    General Chat
    Fun and Games
    After Hours
    Betting Board
Anything else after this would be the same <ok>

I think they're a good idea if used sparingly. I wouldn't say "major events" though. Just anything that's a good conversation starter, like the terracing one earlier.

Errrr. Where did I state that I "don't like swearing"??

The global threads are being used for pointless picture games that clog up the team posts...
Why could they not have been created in the General Forum??
