The "luck of the draw" did not seem to have
much to do with all games in the League cup
last season up to the SF 2nd leg, did it.

Didn’t win it though did they?

Humiliating defeat at Anfield in the second leg

Some non-brilliant sources are claiming we're looking to aid Juventus in their debt issues by signing Douglas Luiz

Would love Douglas Luiz at Spurs, wouldn’t cost a fortune either. Was great at Villa. Concerned he had a lot of muscle injuries at Juve last season though.

The "luck of the draw" should not have allowed Spurs to reach the SF :

    1. at all
    2. 2nd leg leading the tie

    yes ??

I think you're being quite generous there.

    We were appalling against Coventry.

Played well against City but that needs to be put in the context of:
    A) we often beat them, no idea why
    B) Pep made something like 8 changes to his strongest team. We made 3.

Beating a United team as poor as that at home is nothing to write home about.

The first leg against Liverpool was a truly heroic performance worthy of every plaudit. Easily one of our best performances of the season.

Then the second leg was as low as it got.

So I make that one genuinely impressive performance and result in that competition.

Spurs can win the occasional game against a top side but to win a domestic cup you usually need to beat at least 2 and usually 1 of those is away from home and the record at Anfield, Stamford Bridge and Emirates is appalling.

Reaching a semi final isn’t remotely the same as winning it. That’s where the mentality and luck of the draw is needed imo.

Alasdair Gold says terms have been arranged to loan Alejo Veliz to Rosario Central

****ing hell, can't this club show even the slightest consideration to people who compile Loan Watch threads...?

Did they not win the SF 2nd leg due to the "luck of the draw" ??

Got hammered by Liverpool because they’re vastly superior to Spurs and the record at Anfield is woeful.

Avoiding them in the draw is essential if Spurs are to win the FA Cup.

Not necessarily, given we won 1-0 at our place...

In the first leg when Pool knew they had the second leg to come.

If it was a one off game then I doubt it would have been the same result.

Considering they got dumped out of the FA Cup by Plymouth, I'm not so sure about that

The FA cup does not have a two leg stage, does it ??
So, are the Spurs of the 1-0 or 1-4, the "luck of the draw" ??

Already said this. IMO the 1-0 win wouldn’t have happened if there hadn’t been a second leg.

You might wanna check out Spurs recent record against Liverpool before being confident Spurs could beat Liverpool in a one off cup game.

Isn't that who we signed him from in the first place?
