In my opinion there came a time when Mepham’s resilience faded and I believe RLB picked up on it. He seemed to fade in and out of games and I started to believe he was just not what we’d need in the PL if we made it …

… I don’t believe O’Nien’s courage would ever fail him, no matter what happens.

Exactly. If you were in a corner with Luke, he'd be at his best. Not all players have to play every game to have an influence.

As far as you can see, he looks a cert to go into management if he wants it. He's a bright inquisitive lad, lacks ego, has a hunger for hard work, will never ask a player to do what he can't do, and is clearly one of those blokes that others will go over a cliff with.

The chancers got almost everything wrong when they were here, but whoever said "go and get Luke" got something right in a big way.

    Alright guys
    Dons fan here.

I’ve read generally nice things from Sunderland fans about this player which is usually quite telling, on paper he could I think do well for us up here.

    Is that fair comment?

Genuinely think he will be successful up there.

Puts a shift in, has absolutely unquestionable ability, just never really found a role here. Final ball is a bit pish at times but he does get the ball in.

He is a good ball carrier and they do well in Scotland, I think he will be a diamond for you.

He goes with a lot of good will from us and that says a lot.

He's a good player. Helped us out when we had a few injuries, playing out of position and after a bit of time out. Skilful, still young and sees the game nicely. Maybe got caught with the pace of the game occasionally, but I think he'll do well for you.

    Good luck!

HI mate, I'm in Fife so we're nearly neighbours!

I've been a big supporter of AA and still believe he could do a job here.

He's shown he'll get stuck in, anywhere from Portsmouth to Aberdeen, so I'd love to see him succeed ...

... in the meantime I'll make sure I see him next season and hope you enjoy seeing him.

Thanks for that, exactly what I was hoping to hear, absolutely my kind of player.

I did get a sense from what I was reading that he just didn’t quite fit into the system at Sunderland and just wasn’t getting a run of chances.

A ball carrier in the middle is something we lack just now.

The now-departed Jamie McGrath was decent enough at it and our most creative CM - Leighton Clarkson - after being ****e for what felt like about 30 years trying to play in that CAM role, recently converted into a deeper-lying role and has absolutely excelled at pulling the strings from there.

Anyway, excited to see this lad, especially in the big games.

Produce the goods against the likes of Celtic and Sevco and he will be absolutely adored up here.

    That’s great to hear cheers.
Yeah the Scottish game can take time for some players to adapt to but he sounds like just what we need and there is definitely a vacancy here for a central attacking midfielder!

Aye just a wee trip up the road for you then!
That’s good, you’ll have a unique perspective on him.

We’ve signed 7 players and counting so far this summer and to be honest AA (much easier just to go with initials) is the one which excites me the most, I think he will fit in no probs.

Just need a decent centre forward for him to link up with now.

Definitely was the case that he just never quite fitted into the system, we usually played him out of position just to get him on the pitch and he always did well considering.

Hardworking player with an eye for goal, plenty of talent and he's not the type to sulk he just gets on with it. The whole time he was with us I thought we should have played him more.

Can anyone tell me who this Bradley or Jimmy are and where they have come from?

Never heard of them before this window but it feels like they have appeared from thin air and we are treating them as very credible sources. Do they have a track record?

Like others have said, he never got a run in the team but whenever he did he looked good. He’s got a bit of class about him and is prepared to do the hard yards. I’ve got a lot of time for him and hope he is successful with you and I expect he will be. Wouldn’t be disappointed if he came back to us, Good luck next season

Already shown what he is capable of but has been dogged by injuries , if he stays fit he will flourish .

People wanted to write off Luke when we were promoted to the Championship and he proved them all wrong by becoming probably our most consistent defender.
Now, some are saying he isn’t good enough for the Premiership.
I think he will be fine.

If he does do well wouldn’t it be absolutely fantastic if he got called up for England.
I know it’s a very very long shot but it would be marvellous for Luke. (He is English isn’t he?)

To all intents and purposes yes. But he can also represent Singapore as well.
