<peacedove>Newly promoted and bottom of the table clubs love to come
to Anfield and go with at least a point. Not that we do not play well against them
but we always have problems converting our chances.Other clubs like Manchester United
Manchester city do not usually have problems with these clubs on their own groud.
Playing against QPR yesterday we controlled the game from start to finish, yet we
were only able to win narrowly. Can you identify the problems we have.?<ok>:emoticon-0106-cryin

buy someone who can actually put the ball in the back of the net without needing 12 chances

Absolutely I've lost count of the number of great opportunities we've created - great crosses driven into the 6 yard box beating the defenders and only needing tap ins, but there never seems to be anyone there... The nearest man is always 4-5 yards further back... If we just had a natural finisher they'd be level pegging with van Persie right now... And we'd be flying high

I don't think we've been approaching these types of games in the wrong way...Norwich we should've beaten, Sunderland we should've beaten, QPR we deserved to win by probably a couple more (plus we outplayed manure and could've beaten City as well). Basically as stated above we either need someone to start banging in all the chances we are creating...or failing that we could always start knee-capping visting keepers pre-match <laugh>

Won't work. By the looks of things they could put in their back up striker in goal and he'll have the game of his life too. <ok>

Ok then the only other solution I can see in the short term is for Kenny to get his boots back on <ok>

I have the answer....surely this is the only player who we definately would be able to beat week in week out:

Even Downing would get a few <laugh>

Wouldn't do her. Especially with those ball handling skills.

I also think that momentum we have in the first needs to carry over the WHOLE of the second half. I feel in the second half we go through spells of being a bit lazy ( trying to find the right word). Sometimes we wake up in the end, sometimes we fall off at the end ( sunderland, QPR ex).

Robbie Fowler is definately kickin about, just put him in the box tell him don't move until you see the ball coming in.

its a really simple answer here.

you KILL them in the first 15mins. i watched sides like arsenals best side or utd when playing well or chelsea under mourinho and they all did the same thing... they went and absolutely played at a pace no-one could live with for about 20mins, would be 2 up and then relax and kncok it about to just kill sides off.... we don't do this.

for me until we are 2-0 up we ought not to be resting on any laurels, qpr ought to have been 3-0 before they started to play, it was 1-0.... v norwich we missed sitters then got a fortuitous goal and wne tin at half time... it was norwich who came out the stronger.

intensity is a good word for it, i think dropping carrgher is a good step but i think the defense needs to play a higher line and we need to press sides too
