    That is your evidence?

They really helped Reading when they almost went under 2 months ago. Those financial rules did NOTHING. only a last minute buy out. ****ing clueless.

How about what they 'earn' AFTER the owners put a £1billion 'safety payment' in place. Would you be happy with that helping to avoid the club going bust?
    Can't see why you wouldn't.

Wouldn't need the £1bn safety payment with magdads idea that you have to break even though?

Yeah. The £1bn helps you break even. AFTER spending a **** tonne. Not saying the £1bn has to just 'sit there' unused. So long as you break even after it's been paid in to the acvount and then spent in transfers. Fair??

Which is exactly what it was brought in to do. To discourage teams doing that to stop them from going bankrupt. The fa/efl can’t force clubs not to spend money, can only punish them to discourage it. If an owners of reading wants to sign off on 200m signings and wages that they can’t pay, then they can. But they’ll get punished for it.

The idea of psr/ffp is to discourage clubs from doing that. So far it seems to work as the number of clubs going bust is minimal.

That’s not how finances work. If you own a business you can’t just shove £100m into the companies bank account and claim you made £100m profit as a business…

Anyway, magdad was the one talking about breaking even not me. Ask him what he thinks the rules should be.

    As I said, clueless.
Reading didn't overspend. They had an owner asset stripping the club and not paying wages. which led to points deductions and subsequent relegations. THAT is what the authorities should be protecting against. Abd that is what they failed to do. The financial regs are not fit for purpose.

Who is talking about falsifying profit? You can make an investment to provude the company with added spending power. That's how businesses work.

So nothing to do with psr.. point proven then <laugh>. You can’t bring them up saying psr didn’t stop them then turn around and say that had nothing to do with psr…

Thats about fit and proper ownership test… lets not get started on that one as whole different story.

No, I think the easiest way is for club owners to pay the entire transfer fee, agents fee and players contract in an Escrow account held by either PL or UEFA up front. This safe guards the clubs in the case that the owners try to either sell up or get into trouble themselves, but doesn't stop owners from investing in teams and businesses as they see fit.

It would also stop all this bullshit that Chelsea, City, Barca etc pull all the time as it wouldn't be needed.

And that’s what happens at the moment. Owners can cover up to £105m plus provide unlimited money to infrastructure and academy development.

Like I said, magdad is the one that wants no debt and clubs to break even, not me.

Make no bones about this. Liverpool are the most successful team in the country. BUT, you only managed that because for a long time you had the richest owners in the world. Prior to that you were just like Leicester City ffs.

You had to buy your success with no restraints put on you. Same as every other successful club. Blackburn, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City etc.

No. He simply said the current regs encourage / anable £105m of debt. He didn't say debt shouldn't be allowed.

Mate your kind of talking **** here. It was brought in to protect American investors. Pure and simple. It doesn't take a genius that this protects the established CL teams and you know it.

Fascinating to watch sensible reasoning play out bs “big 6” logic, great reading.

Same outcome though - PL is a ****ing sham, yet they don’t have to answer to anyone and can do what the **** they want.

So, do you honestly believe that is the intent when there are so many other ways that can adequately be addressed or that it’s the so called Big 6 protecting their position and advantage.

Liverpool went 30 years without winning the league and won it twice during era of ffp/psr so not sure can say there were no restraints.

60's, 70's and 80' you know when you were owned by Littlewoods and actually became something and grew your fan base massively as a result.

Except it’s not. It’s just what you like to think because a couple of the top clubs in England are owned by Americans and like to think that the league and authorities are against Newcastle being able to spend £1bn.
