A lady who isn't white? Do I win? WTF is the problem? There isn't one other than in the heads of a stupid minority.
A coloured person. Apparently that is incorrect. A person of colour is OK. You can’t say black because some people of African descent are brown. A good example of the stupidity was Idris Elba being introduced by an American as Idris Elba as the African American English actor. He gave the idiot short shrift. It was reported in that article that an American referred to Mandela as an African American. Mandela heard him and told him he was African and that was it.
Some are proper fans who stick with them through thick and thin. Some go even further, like Trumpton Tiger and Jim The Tiger’s dad supported them financially and in other ways in bad times. Some roll up when it suits them and then disappear, others stick with them. Be interesting to compare ours and Wednesday’s crowds this year, they are in worse **** than us with ticket prices over 60% higher.
Only because the people you’re referring to have asked to be referred to as that. I’ve never particularly understood why, but if it means they don’t feel upset then why not? It doesn’t cause me any issue to simply refer to people as they’d prefer to be referred to, once I’ve been made aware of that. No idea why ‘woke’ is used as an insult. It seems to me to be simply used to refer to people who don’t deliberately cause upset to someone. I suppose it’s quicker to say than ‘decent human being’
I've literally no idea anymore what we're supposed to say, how we are supposed to refer to "the people you're referring to". Are these people, whoever they actually are, the official mouthpiece for everyone or just themselves as individuals or specific small groups of like minded people? How is every supposed to know? How are people who don't keep up with media supposed to know? Why has it become so complicated, unclear, divisive. Why can't we just say a skin colour that is nearest to accurate? I'm white-ish, except when I get a bit of a tan. Call me white. That's accurate enough. Others are shades of brown, black, yelllow, whatever. So what, why can't we just say what we see? Why have some people got to look for offence when literally non is intended and expect the rest of the world to bend. Why can't it be simple. Or else, let's have a world governing body issue a simple, clear, unchanging set of very short rules please that everyone can then be clear on and follow. Mad world.
Every individual, every group, every sub group, every cause, every race, every ..... ? And then as far as I have seen, the goal posts keep changing, so .. every time? That doesn't answer it anyway, as I / we could be talking to just friends and acquaintances and they can get offended (on behalf of others they might know or might not even know) because we haven't used the right term of the day to describe someone else! Or just get over heard by a stranger. It's all got bonkers.
That’s not true though. You know very well that using the N word is offensive, and I think it’s very likely you would know that using phrases such as ‘darkies’ would be offensive too. If anyone chooses to use those then they are doing it deliberately to cause offence (I’m not saying you do…I’m just saying you do have some idea because you know that too) As for the difference between coloured people and a Person of Colour I’m less sure why it’s important but lots think it is so that’s good enough for me. Whilst I very rarely find the need to refer to a specific group like that anyway, as it’s unlikely I’d be stating anything generically about people purely because of their background, if I did then I’d use a phrase that most seemed happy with and if someone explained I’d used a phrase that in fact most found offensive I’d apologise and remember for next time. If it was someone I knew or dealt with regularly then I can’t imagine needing to refer to them as anything but their name, but if there was a reason I’d have either figured it out from things they’d said before or just ask them. It’s faux outrage to suggest any of that is anything other than simple
Not the case Thugs do, but you specifically referred to someone as a right wing one. The opposite to being racist is just not being racist…the very opposite of intolerant
There are thugs on both the Right and Left wings of the political spectrum and there are racists on both the Right and the Left wing as well!!!
Blimey are you sending emails or letters to loads of people ?? I’ll have to take a trip to driff it’s rivalling San Fran in its inclusiveness
Are we referring to Galloway? Total fruitloop but a wordsmith of some significance and a hard man to stifle in a debate... I salute your indefatigability
