Did a job at a house on Coltman St a few years ago. The guy inhaled 2 tins of lighter gas in the hour I was there.

    Was your dad Gary Milner?
Mentioned before that i used to be in the retail game. When I was in the market I gave a lad a couple of bob who was shivering in a doorway one winters morning on my way to work. He began looking out for me from then on and eventually followed me to work, explaining he was an out of work carpet fitter. Next day he turned up again saying he'd got a job but need some 'carpet glue'. I only had evostik and he begged a tin off me. Next day he was back for more and paid with a hand full of loose change, this happened throughout the next few days, several times. Until I bumped into him one night when leaving work, he was near Prinny dock with his trousers around his ankles tossing himself off whilst shouting at passing cars on Clive Sully Way. He's been sniffing the stuff. As they say every day is a school day.
Later Briwax became the stuff the sniffers wanted. I could have retired on it, seriously, but I would only sell it if it was pre ordered the day before and the purchaser had to tell what grade/colour they wanted ( the sniffers didn't have a clue). A rep told me a 'pop up' shop on Spring Bank was selling 500 tins a week until the police shut them down.
None of that had anything to do with Gary Milner by the way.

Funniest part of these raids is the plebs buying them are likely to the type who have bought them illegally for years & smoke them whilst hypocritically discussing their ignorant views on foreign folk dodging tax.

I had no idea, small world. Proper City fan was your old fella and a nice bloke too.
I sent him a load of City stuff, unannounced, he had no idea I was sending it, to his bar in Cyprus. He told me he received 'some of it' I think customs had opened the package thinking it was something illegal.

Funny thing is people excusing foreign folk dodging taxes, saying they are supplying a need, are ones who say legitimate businessmen legally avoiding taxes (avoidance is legal, evasion as in dodgy vape shops and hairdressers is illegal) should have the book thrown at them. Hypocrites.

He was. I miss him terribly. Those days at Boothferry Park he took me to will never be repeated. The fan base is so very different now. It just doesn't feel like City to me anymore. I still enjoy it but nothing can better the days that got me hooked.

    A half quarter?

    FFS, call it an eighth.

    Basic ****ing fractions.

They shouldn't necessarily have been arrested for supplying but they should have been jailed for crimes against Maths at a Key Stage 2 level.

If Trumpton knew him and thought well of him you can be sure he was a decent bloke and a proper City fan.

He was proper old school your old fella, supported City with money from his own back pocket when we were in the sh!t. Sponsored games and players and hosted players nights in his pub. I've been in his company many times on occasions like that and as you say nothing can better those days.
Last time I spoke to your dad face to face was in Manchester City's supporters club before a game with City. I/we'd bluffed our way in and were keeping our heads down and mouths shut when i bumped into Gary, all red faced, he'd flown in from Cyprus that morning just for the game and he'd also bluffed his way in, I think he had a mate with him. It was quite emotional to be honest because we both immediately recalled the days at Boothferry Park in the sponsors lounge when there were half a dozen of us for a Tuesday night game against 4th division opposition, now look at us, at Manchester City in the Premier League........happy days.
