A bit late but better late than never, so said Chippy as he allegedly bought a round in Wetherspoons but enough of that.

Come on you Lions. Difficult start with a narrow loss to the improving Argentinians but now beginning to blend together Down Under. Another game starting in under 10 minutes against a provincial Aussie side warming up to the tests against the Wallabies

Have loved and watched the Lions since the magnificent 1971 team. Here’s hoping for a clean sweep in the land of dingos, kangaroos and wallabies.

Waratahs are a very good team. I know some of their players will be missing as they are in the National squad, but it could be a tough test for the Lions. A good opportunity to adapt to southern hemisphere style of play as refs have a slightly different interpetation of some rules vs northern hemisphere style.

Agreement supposed to be in place where the National squad players should be released for these games but it doesn’t look like the Aussies are keeping to it.

Here we go. Played Jones. Nice step.

Touch fortunate re WAR try but a couple of cheap shots from the Aussies after their “try” so tough cheddar to them…

And now they score after a couple of mistakes/missed tackle.

Number 4 for Aussies is clearly dirty and cost them the first try, gave us our second try and nearly cost them their real try.
Personally think it was foul play by 4 on try but referee is Southern Hemisphere.

That's what I meant about them adjusting to southern hemisphere style and refereeing decisions. Get used to those fine margins of what is and isn't allowed, before playing the Wallabies.

    Played by Mitchell.

Don’t usually like him as he seems to kick too much (possibly just the orders when playing for England) but he is having a canny game today.

And that time his kicking game worked.

Another win. Made hard work of it. Lots of work still to do before the Tests.

Yeah, not pretty to watch, but hopefully a good warm up and a chance to assess and learn a few tricks about how they play down under. These pronvincial teams like Warratahs are never going to be easy games. Very good standard and tough to play against.
