Really was stunned by this terrible news and my emotions are all over the place.Everybody I've spoken to seems to be the same.
United fan in peace. I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to the wider Liverpool FC football family and to express my condolences to his utterly distraught family and friends. RIP
Horrible how circumstances come around. Had surgery so was advised not to fly so was instead driving to get the ferry before reporting back to Liverpool on Monday. Proper sliding doors moment. Hope that whoever advised and whoever was involved in making those decisions aren’t dealing with any kind of guilt over it
I'm glad he managed to get a title in his last year on earth and managed to experience that jubilation. Doesnt make up for the early tragic death., but it's good he got to experience that
Statements from the club Slot https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/arne-slot-statement Owners https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/statement-behalf-billy-hogan-john-henry-tom-werner-and-mike-gordon Hughes & Edwards https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/statement-behalf-michael-edwards-and-richard-hughes
Still feels really surreal. There are worse thibngs going on in the world than the death of a successful footballer, but it still feels just a tragedy.
Just can’t believe it and can’t even begin to imagine what the family are going through. RIP, will never be forgotten here
I know probably not top of everyone’s thoughts right now, but when all players and staff report back for pre season it’s going to be very odd and emotional for them - but also going to be strange for the new players. Normally would be a joyous occasion with new players being welcomed and introduced and happy smiles - instead Frimpong Wirtz kerkez marma going to be coming into club where mood is very somber. I know over time players will start to get back to normality as everyone has to when losing a loved one, but hope the newbies still get a nice welcome.
Broke me, that. He posted a picture at Diogo's wedding. They were obviously besties. We need to look after Robbo as well this season. He'll be broken, but he needs to be here.
Without trying to be cynical, I don’t think anyone will ever know what happens to the money. But the kids will already be set up financially for adulthood already from earnings, the club will also have insurance on all the players and each player will I imagine have some sort of life insurance. At this time, I doubt the family even care or have had any thoughts about money.
Of all the tributes I've read, Slot's got to me the most. A poignant, personal message and in summation, writes the words we all know and sing. Made more powerful by choosing not to change the tense. "His name is Diogo." Rest in perfect peace Diogo and André.
