    From the other thread...

    @RudyGaletti

    ✍️ EXCL | Reinildo will officially sign his two-year contract with Sunderland on Monday in Madrid.

    The deal was fully agreed, as revealed days ago: the player is set to begin his next chapter in the UK.

    Yes I did, but the more we bring in the same number we have to shift. We will end up with unhappy players who aren't getting game time.

    Unfortunately all good teams have players good enough but can’t get a start
    However we have a big match day squad tha will be used
    (And I’m not saying we are top team at the moment )

    Patto has got potential to improve still. Strong competition will do him good. Even if he's not first choice this season, he's good enough to be 2nd

    O9 ? Coming up from league one, people were saying he won't make it in the championship. He made CB his spot. I reckon he could do the same in the premier league. He's not a classic center half but he's an intelligent player, and brings loads to the team . I doubt very much that he'll leave this season. Plenty of others who we will shift before him imo

    Good piece. I'd say almost all of us approve of the approach, even if it must mean the occasional sell of a seriously good player.

    The notion has been made clear all along, so no one was duped. And anyway, if Real Madrid have occasionally had to sell players........

    If it was for corruption Real and Barcelona would have to sell all their players to break even.

    interesting to see those clips show he can play on the left and right of attack. There’s that versatility again.

    Enjoyed that, cheers.

    Canny quote at the end about the vision / project at SAFC being easier to sell to prospective players as we have evidence (promotion/Rigg playing 40 times last year) to back it up:

    “It’s an ambitious project but that comes into your thinking with a club that have just been promoted,” one agent who has dealt with Sunderland and manages a number of top prospects tells The i Paper.

    “The difference for them now is that when they go to players and agents, they can point to the success they’ve had.

    “As a Premier League club they don’t need to talk up the vision as much when they’ve proved it works.”
