Here we go (Read that in your best Fabrizio voice).
The next league is announced. Pints. Anything from Lager, Ale, Cider, Soft drinks. Even a good old ice water. Just no Snakebite, I am still scarred.
I am going for a Jaipur from the Thornbridge brewery, near me. A rocket fuel IPA which tastes spectacular.
My second pick, Guinness. But with caveats. Got to be in Dublin and hand pulled. It is a different drink to what we get here.
Cameron strong arm story. When I was around 16 or 17 I had a ticket in the local WMC. Tiny village and my Dad had ok with steward. Used to just drink carling in half pint bottles back then. One night I was in and wandered over and asked for a pint of Strongarm. He looked at me and said when you are a bit bigger lad, choose again![]()
The price of a pint now, doesnt the glass come free?

Circa 1977?Once visited Camerons brewery in Hartlepool for the guided tour. Anyway a bunch of policemen from Scarbrough were the other mob who were turning up for this tour. They never turned up so we were given the option of the tour or just sit and sample the goods. Obviously the latter won. My boss at the time who had organised this says "well I suggest we try a half of everything find one we like and then have a few pints". 40 odd years old, wtf is a half at that age. Fk that. It was a pint of everything. Anyway eventually opted for the Crown Ale. Fkn hell that stuff is put your own windows out.
Still it was a bloody good free night out.
Sunk a few of those.Titanic Plum Porter.
Sadly not had one on the 10 years I've lived in this country shaped toilet.
Anything Thornbridge gets a try mate.Loved a pint of Exhibition when I was younger. Trophy was decent too.
Nowadays I'm really into Craft Beers. Unfortunately, Sunderland isn't the best place to go for them. There are some tremendous breweries on Tyneside who are currently knocking the spots off anything brewed on Wearside. Haway Lads, up your game!
Full Circle, Almasty and Two by Two all produce excellent stuff. I was delighted to pick up Full Circle Revolver cans in Asda in Wembley back in May.
My Favourites are Full Circle's propeller, Life and Death by Vocation and Green Mountain by Thornbridge.
For the OP: Thornbridge are producing Jaipur Faith, which is a collaboration with Northern Monk Brewery. Should be worth a try.
My local has this on regularly mate. Spectacular. But then when it is available he gets a Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, which knocks spots off everything. You have to be quick though, the barrel will be gone on night 1 as literally every one wants their taste of it.Titanic Plum Porter.
Sadly not had one on the 10 years I've lived in this country shaped toilet.
Discovered Tangle Foot years ago in a pub in Old Tew in Oxfordshire ( known for real ales, used to sell snuff , flagstones and toilet a few cottages away ! ) About eight of us, sampling different ales, trying each others and everyone eventually homing in on Tangle Foot for the night. In the debrief next day, it was renamed ''Tangle Tongue'' and as no one had had much idea of what they were saying or hearing, the term ''he's speaking in scribble'' was bornStaropramen . Kronenberg.
Abbot Ale . Tangle Foot. Old Speckled Hen.
Guinness . Murphy’s . Any dark stout.

Some good tips on here. I've never tried Pravha.underrated pint for me is Pravha - ultimate session lager
Taste of a 5% but only 4%
Now we’re talking for lagers no one does it better than the Germans or the Czechs for me, augustina brau, spaten or steigl are superb, love a budva, staropramen or pravha too
tend to just go with neck oil on a match day though so easy to sink
honourable mention to jakehead from wylam too but it absolutely ruins me
Saw this, sent the wife to Sainsbury’s.
Do like a pilsner urquell will have to keep an eye out for the others!Budvar is excellent. Thankfully, they export to the UK, whereas the Staropramen we get here is brewed in Burton-on-Trent, so is sub-standard. Big shout out for other Czech beers - Gambrinus, Pilsner Urquell, Bernard and Krusovice.
