Sunderland eying up a move for Bobby Clark. Canny player, but ****ing hell they've never forgiven his old man for the Sad Mackem Bastards T-Shirt so can't see that working out well.
He not worked out at Liverpool?? By the way seen that we may have lost a prospect to City, but we then took one of Liverpools top prospects as well. Probably too much coverage these days on the tiny deals, but just for balance we seem to be really trying to do the right stuff at the youth level.
Course it might help overall development if we could keep ****ing sporting directors longer than it takes some people to walk from Wembley stadium to the pub to celebrate a cup win
So the way I heard it in spite of the nervousness was that there would be three waves this window - the moves we need, the replacments as they happen then the opportunities at the end. I think we’re mad keen on getting 4 players in this first wave. Looks like it’ll be Trafford, Elanga then (optimistically) Scalvini or maybe just Thiaw, then whoever we like behind Pedro - I’m thinking Adeyemi. What a ****ing window that would be. 2nd phase would be if Longstaff, Willock or Trippier go. Thats where the likes of Ramsey, Richardson, Pubill come into play. 3rd phase is if something exceptional appears but if we do well in the first two, we won’t need anyone else. Feels like this window could be incredible.
I agree that I think Trafford is a done deal, I think it will have been Elanga or Adeyemni, So looks like it will be Elanga. I'm thinking we've made a move for Thiaw as the cheaper alternative to Scalvini (personally would have gone Scalvini) leaving us more money for a back up striker realising this is going to be an expensive one. Just my thinking. Other thinking is we're going for both Thiaw and Scalveni as Schar isnt getting any younger and we'd need to replace next year.
I still feel it will be Scalvini mind. I think we could add Thiaw as well. Adeyemi isn’t really an out and out winger, he is more versatile, so could be a viable Pedro alternative. Or this could be the heat and I’ll remember tomorrow that everything’s ****, conveniently forgetting the league cup win and champions league qualification.
Today’s the day we sign Elanga for £55m. Then we sign Trafford for £40m. That would be a good two deals.
Ha ha you said "55m for a manu reject" a few posts ago. He'll be a good signing, our front starting 3 will be rapid
Does that mean we now need a faster midfielder to keep up and crash the box? If we could get a fast 10 in then that could make the front line even more devastating
