    Horrible news, and I wonder how it impacts the existing squad.

    I would suspect Jota was insured, so FSG can replace him now. (If we were waiting on sale before purchasing again). I wonder if this means Diaz less likely to be leaving now.

    afaik all players are insured by the club for serious injury etc
    Diaz wasnt and isn't leaving this window

    You are of course right but this is the thing about death
    The world will continue to turn
    At some point those questions have to be asked/answered but understanding his job - he wouldn’t be wanting his team to dwell on what has happened
    That’s why it’s so sucky

    all the other clubs will carry on as normal today
    Business continues - the world moves on - with a footnote to Diogo - perhaps at the Spain v Portugal game later, defo at our first home game
    But before that - those little questions will be answered
    Life is weird
    My wife called me this morning to express sadness at the events that have occurred
    Anne is not a football fan - never has been - in fact because of how much time is spent at grassroots I would say Anne possibly resents it

    yet this morning an image of Diogo and his child playing on Anfield choked her up to a point where she contacted me

    life is so fleeting and strange
    Weird day to be a red
