How many games have people watched? I’ve not watched a single game….and maybe the highlights of a game once. Is it just me? Perhaps it’s my LFC bias but I’m completely disinterested…..unusual for me with football in general. they need viewers or it won’t happen again.
Zero. Its on too late. The world cup will be a complete bust next year if they move to evening games to avoid roasting the players alive in the midday sun.
About 20 mins of Chelsea's first game and a few highlights here and there. Been more interested in the Cricket and Wimbledon anyway - would probably watch the women's euros over it too.
now now, I know the tournament is ****, but lets not go crazy.....i'd rather watch an U12's kick about in the park than womans football. I tried watching the Chelsea Ladies vs Man United ladies FA Cup final a couple of years back and I made it about 15-20 minutes in and I had to stop as my spine was about to crack from how hard I was cringing.
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/u15-boys-dominate-womens-national-213144684.html It's never a good sign when a national team loses to a team of players about half their age. Unfortunately, that was the case in a recent friendly between a women's national team and a teenage team. On Wednesday, the Switzerland women's national team played the Under-15 boys team representing FC Luzern. Switzerland are the No. 23 ranked team in the world while Luzern's team was comprised of boys mostly of age 14 and under. The boys dominated. Luzern came away with a dominating 7-1 win. What's more distressing is that the women's team didn't even publicize the results of the game, suggesting that the team might be trying to avoid some embarrassment. They're set to play in the Women's European Championship in a few days.
I'm sure if thry were playing in the Euros they were looking for a run about and not interested in getting kicked. But it does go to show the difference in power even if just talking about shooting
Yes, the ladies were treating it as a friendly no doubt; and on the flip side- I'm sure the boys were also much more motivated.... "come on boys, you don't want to lose to a bunch of girls do you?" and other such manly trollop. Nonetheless, if we approached a game against, say Arsenal, as a summer friendly; and for them they treated it as a cup final... I wouldn't expect to win... but I wouldn't expect to lose 7-1 either.
7-1 dude....... Regardless of motivation, professionals wouldnt let themselves get trounced 7-1 by children....the biggest shock is that they were able to score 1.
