Agree but at some point you have to think we'll be bringing in cheaper players in some positions. For me right back is definitely one of them. I think this is agent talk.
I agree. I'm all for competition, but 18m would be a lot to spend when I fully expect Hume to make the step up and play most games. Honestly, I would have been happy with Hume starting, and Huggins/O'Nien as cover. Invest that 18m into a winger, or elsewhere.
I know the order of signings doesn't matter. But I think I'd be more comfortable spending £18m on a right back if I knew we were going to spend similar on a right or left winger. Just feels like a lot of outlay at the moment without touching the most pressing positions.
KLD wants to go for it, no messing about, wants a squad big enough for a proper go and maybe even a cup run
I'm also not going to get carried away with that Italian paper saying we're in negotiations with Mikautadze. I'll wait for one of the big journalists or French or UK media to follow up. One source aimed at the Italian market could be lost in translation / chinese whispers. And anyway I feel a bit burnt after Petrovic yesterday
I’d be really surprised especially if it’s a championship club. You could pick up probably half a dozen keepers for peanuts in that division who will do as a job as Patto at that level. For that kind of money I think they’d shop abroad, nobody in the champ is spending £10m+ on a keeper.
