Verdict reached in the Diddy case. Apparently they reached a verdict relatively quickly on all charges bar the racketeering but now have a verdict on that one too. Might be wrong but that suggests to me that the other 4 charges are guilty.
Diddy denied bail and to be sentenced on the 3rd Oct. I heard earlier what he has been found guilty on carries a max 10 year sentence.
Diddy's lawyers must have spent hours trying to get him freed, Judge not having none of this bullshit.
Yeh same at first. Crazy scene tbh how frightening for that poor girl. I hope those lads fuked him up
I see the Manchester Airport guys were in court today, trial expected to last 4 weeks. Prosecution gone with stating a high level of violence. My concern is this only has a maximum 2 year sentence in law, if found guilty, unless anyone knows differently? To me it seems a lot of time, effort and public money for very little punishment. Our laws need updating.
Not an actual crime - but many dead Texas River rises 26 feet in one hour ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyelx3x5k0o
Resisting arrest has a two year maximum but ABH carries 5 (7 if racially motivated) - the younger brother head butted (and then possibly punched) an Asian guy in Starbucks in front of his family - the guy had been on the same plane as the mother of the brothers and had some sort of row with her ... The younger guy is facing 2 possibly 3 charges of ABH and the elder brother one - as far as I can work out ...
Our justice system is a complete mess ... 20 protesters arrested in London for carrying placards reading "I oppose genocide - I support Palestine Action" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gd3pkr9x1o If they'd done the same thing this time last week, nothing happens ... but now that Palestine Action has been 'proscribed' they coild each face up to 14 years in prison for 'supporting a proscribed group' - compare that to the likely sentences for the Manchester Airport 2 discussed above
