I’d wager the vast majority do, I certainly do.

Atmosphere has never been the same. Not behind a goal though shoved in a corner.

    I wasn’t saying I was

But I think more than 50% of the hardcore would agree with me

Yeah on here. No offence and I like this forum but it’s not representative of the main lads, your away game crew. It’s quite a sanitised crowd on here

Everyone I speak to agrees we need to move them down.

Have done since year one of them being uk there. It killed the atmosphere almost instantly.

I think you’re wrong about that as plenty on here who go to away games also want them moved. Even then, the “away game crew” aren’t the majority either though, are they? Simple maths that.

I sit in the east stand block u8 and most games you can't hear the away fans, I did sit in the north stand but moved after the game a bottle landed 2 rows in front.

The away fans need bringing down imo

    That’s absolute dog ****.

The hardcore are the people that go to every home game, regardless of weather, league or form.

Our away support is magnificent but there’s plenty who don’t go away who can’t due to finances, employment, family ties.

Away games are a luxury to many, but the tens of thousands who find their way to every home game are the absolute beating heart of the football club.

Anyone who says otherwise needs to think about what they are saying.

(Yours faithfully a 37 year season card holder who does some away games, and used to do nearly all)

Or was it just the downward spiral of the club, struggle every year that killed the atmosphere. We have had cracking atmosphere with them up a height, mag games, Chelsea, everton, sheff wed, Coventry.

Some of the trend on atmosphere may simply be down to modern football support, seated grounds, better food, drink available in grounds rather than old style like Roker.

Id be shocked if the place wasn't bouncing for West Ham at home & if the club shows signs of a decent season, by that i mean reasonable chance of staying up we should see plenty games with good atmosphere

I agree to a degree, there’s definite other influences.

Reacting to away fans always gets a charge though. Away fans are boisterous, we all remember Roker and how the Roker Wing and Fulwell reacted to away fans raising noise.

Was same at SOL, they needed moved from behind goal, but not upstairs.

Sitting there at West brom when it was minus 10, or 2 seasons ago when everyone gave up at the end of the season.

Thats support, id love to go to every away game, id love the money and family life to allow it, but I can't and don't have either.

My dad dragged himself to the Coventry game, despite being ill, despite it being to much for him. He jumped around like a kid when we won.

Thats support and the heartbeat of our club

You may have a valid point as in they were moved to the wrong place, problem is now where do we shift them back to?

North stand corners doesn't (could be wrong) have the supporters who would enjoy getting ar away fans, one south corner would be next to family end which leaves SWC which is close to the original cells for away fans, however is one of the better parts atmosphere wise most games....would proper piss me off being moved again due to away fans considering i was quite happy top of north stand originally.....not an easy one to resolve in my opinion

BUT if they do stop up a height, the throwing stuff needs to be sorted.....very sad there are people who want to attend a football match & throw objects with the intention of deliberately hurting someone

    Aye mate.

After work, tough day, pissing down, easy to miss cos there’ll be another one in 2 weeks.

    ‘Naaaa I can’t not go’.

That’s far deeper than the ‘event and occasion’ of a once a year max stadium.

SWC is the logical choice and move the family zone to open up more area for ‘the noisy ones’.

You’re absolutely right it’s a messy one to tidy up and would need proper fan consultation.
