No as per earlier they got £55m from selling their women’s team to themselves and pocketed £80m from our owners for Duran. We seem to be the only club not able to exploit Saudi wealth. The irony is ****ing astonishing.
Liverpool asking for £40m+ for Harvey Elliott - snap their hands off. Kids a great prospect and has CL experience, left footed RW - exactly what we need and can play across the front line and even CM in emergencies - will only get better.
Well yes, that is true but that kind of shows us where we are doesn't it. Villa were able to sell Duran to Saudi because they had Watkins there still. If we sell Isak to Saudi, we have Osula left, it's different levels at the minute. All of this stems from the "purple players" which left us with no depth in the squad and therefore no saleable assets without dragging down the level of the 1st eleven. In essence we need to up the rate of youth production from the academy so we have assets to sell or ready made replacements for our main players when they get a little older. Then Saudi would be viable for us. As for Maxi, I still think that was our owners doing the club a favour.
Tammy Abraham apparently may be going to Besiktas for 12 mill odd. At that price as a back up to Isak do you think we should have been on that?
100% for a second striker that’s got to be worth it but the wages would probably be a stumbling block on 100k p/w currently and isn’t going to Turkey for the quality of football or the weather…
Difference being though in that particular situation Dhuran was given game time whereas Osula and Neave nothing. Maybe if Osula has been given more time SA would have come in with a big fee like they did with Dhuran
I just watched this video of the Brentford DOF talking about Mbeumo on Sky Sports... Maybe we should hire him considering he's a Geordie so he might actually converse with the fans.
