£3.5 million isn’t peanuts but we spent close to that on Millar last summer and later signed Belloumi and Kamara for fees higher than that. Either we have cash flow problems or our FFP limit is almost reached. Either way, we need to sell some players and quickly if we are to secure certain signings. This is what irritates me about Acun’s ‘I will never haggle over more money for a player if he wants to leave because I don’t want to impede their career’ logic. He’s running a business, not a charity.
Acun keeps mentioning a game of chess so would make sense in the context or having to sell to spend. I wonder if we're awaiting deals for Mehlem and Omur to go through.
Me too. Wish they'd **** off and 'support' some other club tbh. Never admits to making mistakes. Ooops. Cross that one off. Lost all interest. Ooops. Cross that one off. Run out of money. Ooops. Cross that one off. About to be sold. Ooops. Cross that one off. Is crippling us with debt that will need repaying in full. Ooops. Cross that one off. Etc etc. Add your own to continue to make yourselves look stupid. We have an owner who's not perfect, as nobody is, but is as passionate as we are, who clearly is learning from his (admitted) past mistakes, who's trying desperately (timewise, personal investment wise, emotionally) to make us successful in spite of the FFP constraints and the massively uneven playing field) who communicates with us, who 'gets it', who continues to raise our global profile, who treats supporters with respect and more, who makes watching affordable, etc etc and yet anyone who supports him / sides with him gets playground insults thrown at them by some on here. ****ing idiots, just **** off. What the **** do you want? Oh for the days of Lloyd, Buchanan, Ehab, et all eh.
The guy reporting it works for The Athletic and was the one who reported last night that the deal was close.
£3.5m is a lot less than I was expecting he’d cost but still a lot of money for someone who’s only done it in league 1. Think Ebiowei, Raki Saki, Scott Twine, Mallik Wilks in recent years.
I really have high hopes for Barry above those listed though. He has an energy and hunger in trying to make things happen, a bit like Gelhardt has.
no football club fan should ever be a sycophant to an owner fans of this club especially should know and you only need to look at whats happening at wednesday to see how a club can be ruined by an owner as much as i dislike wednesday, rivals in football make it more exciting, and they are completely ****ed so **** off with the arse licking
Phil Dayes put on Linkedin last night that he was already sponsored and not available which I found strange considering he was not announced yet.
Sycophants? Arse licking? Playground emoji's and insults. Usual suspects. You are thick. You just don't get it. You deserve a Wednesday or Cardiff owner, or Ehab, or Lloyd, Buchanan (if you were around in those days). p.s. "We have an owner who's not perfect, ..... "
The meltdown days after the end of the season was embarrassing. People claiming we were going under etc etc. And even when it is clear it was all rubbish some are still desperate to see us fail. It is like Fenwick and Peter Taylor all over again.
Criticism means we deserve an owner that’s going to run us into the ground? How does that logic work? Guessing you’ve never had any criticism about your place of work
