I think they would have a good chance of playing. We will be having a lot of players leave over the next couple of months.
Clark could be lined up if one of Fernandes or Smallbone move on?? Guess time will tell.
Downs will be coming here to be first choice striker,

Who's going to play ahead of them? The only similar profile to Downs in our squad is Ross Stewart and... well... y'know. Downs also won't be moving anywhere in a World Cup season (at home, in USA) unless he has assurances that he has a good shot of playing regular and becoming the USA starting #9

Quarshie has clearly been bought to contribute early doors and if we play a back three, I would expect to see him playing from the off

Clark, I would imagine, is a bit more linked to departures of Fernandes and/or Dibling

It’s hard to really know at this point as we don’t know who is staying/going. We have the core of a top Championship team already so we don’t really need to be signing first team regulars, I’m fine with promising younger players who may end up playing regularly, and hopefully can develop into PL players

I don't. But Downs isn't going to sign to sit on the bench and Still tends to play with 3 CB's so Quarshie has been bought to play from the off.

I’m fine with youngsters, as long as it doesn’t eat up the whole budget.

    10m on Clark seems steep.

TBF we have no idea what the asking price for Clark is at this stage.

All depends on who leaves, but at the moment I’d say Downs is most likely out of the three to start.

We’ve just suffered from this type of transfer policy before, that’s why I’m not excited by it.

I’m always fine with this policy tbh. It’s the only way I can see us ever being half decent is by finding youngsters who develop with us into good players before being sold.

We aren’t going to be signing already good players (PL level) in their mid to late twenties, they will cost too much/wont want to come. Or will be a gamble from a smaller league, and I’d rather gamble on a young player than an Onuachu type

Oh for the early 80’s transfer possibilities. SFC & the like could compete but now, just NO chance. Only have to look at the £ revenue stream from the CWC.

Really good get for WBA. I really liked him and felt for him coming off in tears at Wembley too

I can't get my head around that one. Why would Brooks want to drop down to WBA? And why haven't other clubs - whether below Bmouth in the PL, or above WBA in the Championship - come in for him?

If WBA can keep hold of Fellow, which is a big if, him and Brooks could be very potent.

Not sure what WBA will be paying as only has a year left in his contract, but I’d imagine his wages would be quite high for them?

I took the piss out of that rumour because it just seems so farfetched.
I still can't understand it. He played in a lot of games for a good top half PL team last season. Not a huge amount of starts, so I can understand him wanting to leave for playing time, but I'd have thought a lower half PL team or a newly promoted PL team would have been all over that!? And then if none of them are for whatever reason, you'd think he'd go to a parachute payment club in the Championship. Not West Brom who are notoriously tight with money and don't appear to have much ambition beyond trying to sneak into the playoffs without spending anything.

Only thing I can think of is that a lot of teams don't want to take the risk with his injury record.

Signing youngsters with potential is great, so long as they are not the only signings being made. We don't need PL-ready players, but those who are the best of the Championship, and who have not yet reached their ceiling. The right back Coventry signed is a good example.

Well Downs played regularly last season for a side that won the second division of Germany, which sound similar to signing young Champ players to me. The standard may be lower in Bundesliga 2, but the team that won it are probably as good as majority of the champ bar the parachute teams.

The window is still young, but given Spors appointment and the hiring of the Chief Scout who was a u21 scout or whatever it was I’m not surprised at us being linked/signing to German based players and young players in general.

Since SR have been here the young signings have tended to be good. It’s the older more experienced ones who have been complete disasters. Even with young players who don’t work out you get most of your money back on them anyway (Mara and Sulemana spring to mind).

What does this actually mean? Because they don’t seem similar to signing from that window where it was mostly Man City academy players. And they also don’t seem similar to the panic window of Sulemana, Orsic and Onuachu. Or the mostly British player focus under Russell Martin

So what actually is a SR style signing / rumour?
