Lets see it was what, £115m for Caicedo, £62m for Cucurella, £25m for Robert Sanchez (Though he isnt worth 25p), plus the £16m we paid them to release Potter, and the £6m or so we paid them in compo for Potters backroom staff so all in all about £220m or thereabouts in the last 3 years. Add the £60m we are paying for Pedro and thats £280m if this deal goes through.
Ridiculous really. Hes talented but not 50m talented. His goalscoring record is pretty bad considering hes also the pen taker. The best thing about him is his workrate but thats not 50m buy. Cunha would have been much better
He’s only 23 mate. I’m so glad you bought him because I thought he was going to Newcastle and I really didn’t want that to happen. I think he’s a seriously top talent. 16 goal involvements in 27 games in a disrupted season, is good going. He’s more of a striker in the mould of Firminho. He brings everyone else into the game. Seems like a perfect fit for Maresca’s tactics.
I really hope so. You are far more optimistic than me. Hope he proves me wrong but i would have much preferred a striker like wissa or cunha (well he aint a striker) or even a bit more experience like eze, bowen or jimenez or actually mateta who i think is class (yea i know they are different). Im hoping we give delap a chance in that striker role. I have a feeling they will play pedro as the left inside forward. I suppose he is an upgrade on sancho though.
Like @Saf I think Joao Pedro is a good signing for Chelsea. Good age and playing in a better side he will get more chances. £50million doesn’t get much these days and he’s got potential. I would have happily taken him at Spurs.
Yeah, I assume Pedro will be on the left. That and sitting behind the main striker are his best positions. Looks like it’s going to be between Jackson and Delap for your number 9 position. I thought Nkunku was going to be your main striker but he’s flattered to deceive. I’d not give up on him yet because a lot of players in the premier league don’t start going until their second season. He needs to step up now, though.
nkunku is the signing I was the most excited for, probably in the last 5 years. Maresca doesnt like him though, for whatever reason and hardly ever plays him.
yeah i had hopes for nkunku when i first arrived. This will be his third season but you are right, coming back from injury and not really getting a first season, i hope he can pick it up. Everytime i have seen him play though, i dont know what he is. His build up seems ****, he doesn't work hard, doesn't make intelligent runs. He did look like had a finish on him and he's calm in goal and he has that ability to outmanoevre a centre back with a bit of skill and get a shot away but beyond the times hes in the box and fed, he looked pretty useless. Don't know if thats because of marescas pep light style or because he's not that great.
You do play a completely different style to Leipzig, maybe he’s just not suited to the slow build-up. They always used his pace as an asset to stretch defences and for him to find space for that killer through ball that he’s got in the bag. Maybe that’s why Maresca will never fancy him. Happy to take him on loan for a year, we usually improve players
I was thinking we've ballsed this one up by allowing Chelsea to nick in there after our bid got turned down, but yeah, scoring ain't great and he seems to have an attitude, so better out there. Presumably gonna be on ridiculous wages like everyone else at Chelsea. We're rumoured to interested in the guy from Star Trek now, but I assume Arsenal are still after him.
If Isak went to Everton that would be the funniest ****ing thing ever. It would make zero sense, and there is zero percent chance it is happening, but it would be the funniest thing ever
