Fair enough, if that's where he wants to go. I don't know much about him, but personally, if a player of his age wants to go and play part time football in the desert for money, then in all honesty, he probably isn't the type a newly promoted club needs. It is going to be a very tough season, it is for every team up there never mind teams who have been out of it for a long time. We will need the right types.
To be quite honest, I don't think I'd want him near us if he has even seriously considered such an early semi-retirement.
I'm the opposite, if he turns down a huge sum of money to come here then he's the exact type of player we want. One that wants to play for the club and not just to get a better pay cheque
To be honest I don't have a problem with Bulka going to Saudi. If he chooses cash over progress that's fair enough. However a good season in the premier league with us could propel his career in the right direction. It may be that he doesn't back himself to do well and take what on the surface would appear to be the easy option.
Fascinating to see the players we're linked with now we've gone up. We've done great picking up gems on the cheap but we've clearly been researching, probably for years, what we'd do if we were to unleash the chequebook.
Absolutely this! If he goes there then he loses all respect from a football perspective. If he turns down “set for life in 6 months “ to play premier league football, then he’s exactly right for us

Some quotes about Habib Diarra from Liam Rosenoir: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...d-set-complete-club-record-deal-habib-diarra/ Born in Senegal, Diarra moved to France to join the youth ranks of Mulhouse before signing his first professional terms with Strasbourg in the summer of 2021. He made his senior debut the following October, and has made 92 Ligue 1 appearances for a Strasbourg side that finished seventh in the French top-flight last season under English head coach Liam Rosenior. Despite Diarra only turning 21 in January, Rosenior made him his club captain, such was his respect for both the player’s ability and the strength of his character. “Habib is getting better and better and better,” said Rosenior, earlier this year. “And stronger and stronger and stronger in his understanding of the game and his fitness. “I love Habib because he can be Mr. Angry sometimes, and he likes to have confrontations. He’s a winner - that’s why I made him captain. And he’s doing the club proud. “He’s a good kid with a lot of potential and I’m delighted to be working with him. He’s a really, really positive thing in our season.”
