Anderson is a better player than Henderson. The English senior team is just who's picked and doesn't determine who's the best. Mainoo has done two thirds of **** all in comparison to Anderson and he got his cap overnight. It's actually a part of why England underachieve imo. It's not a new phenomenon either! I remember Andy Cole banging 40 a season at the toon and couldn't get a call up. Signed for Man United and he was in the next announced squad.

Doesn't really matter Dan burn scored in a cup final but he's not Maldini. I'm looking at the players abilities in general. I don't think Mainoo has had as many good games as Anderson and imo Anderson is actually a far superior player. Andersons goals will soon come too I think because he was very good at that at youth level.
The fans would have a meltdown if this was our first signing. I would be happy with it though as there is a player in there. Just needs a good run of fitness.
Good article in Forbes highlighting our odd change of direction in transfers. That there’s an obviousness to us that means we’ll always be competing with financially bigger clubs, and therefore likely to fail. That our biggest successes were somewhat risky, players where the elite clubs just weren’t 100% sold. Isak had a 6 goal season before we bought, Gordon has 1 g/a which turned Chelsea off. We’re inexplicably going after players at the very height of their value. Scalvini and Simons represent far more viable options yet we appear to be dithering over players we just can’t get. We have precedence as well - Delap, Mbuemo, Huijsen this window, Olise, Elanga and Guehi last Summer. Makes no sense to me.
Regardless of what approach is being taken I'd expect to see a considerable shift in proceedings in the next 7 to 14 days saying as majority are back for pre season on the 7th.
I’m still convinced that the offers for these players are smokescreens. To make it look like we are targeting them. It doesn’t make sense to be going for players that are excessively over priced. That’s not how we have done things so far so why start now. There are plenty of deals to be done. And it’s nearly 1 July.
