He's not the same player he used to be. But at this stage, we probably couldn't have asked for much better. So I'm satisfied. Be interesting to see who the second player is.
Pretorius and Brevis currently putting on a decent partnership on their test debuts, after coming together with SA in trouble.
I was expecting Currie to come in, but not Kelly as well. Hopefully they both go well. No genuine no.11 within the side, so someone will be batting lower than they want.
What's the rationale for using it? Is it a finance thing? It will drive the crowds away eventually i'd imagine.
To get players used to it for if they get ever picked to play with it in Australia. But pretty much any bowler who'll be going on the next Ashes tour is either currently injured or currently in the test squad! It's stupid!! Preferably never use it. But if the ECB insist, then at least use it in a week where the likes of Carse and Tounge are playing county cricket!!
Kookaburra ball or not, Worcs being 300-2 after 70 odd overs is embarrassing. Ridiculous selection of Currie and Kelly have left us with only 2 very good bowlers and one decent one. Fuller is in no way shape or form a new ball bowler in this format. Brown is clearly not a good captain and Birrell needs to go.
At least we lost the toss. Durham inflicting their pain upon themselves by asking Surrey to bat... Can we just forward to the end of the season, when Surrey inevitably win the title again.
