Nathanael Ogbeta has gone on a 12 month loan to Barnsley.....and wiil not be eligible to play against us on the first game of the season.
Argyle have arranged a game during their Austrian training camp. Against ....2 Bundesliga team Eintracht Braunschweig on Fri 11 July at 5pm in the town of St Johann.
Umm Salal SC ...Doha Qatar....have announced the signing of Michael Baidoo from PAFC.....no comment yet from Argyle.
Just been on Wikipedia looking at the details of FIFA's expanded Club World Cup.....which includes 32 clubs. It is played over the period June 14th to July 13th.....which is a fair chunk of the "so called" rest period between seasons in places like Europe. There are players feeling unhappy about this extra workload....and the injuries that they inevitably bring physically and mentally......there has been rumblings of players considering strike action. Of the 32 clubs that have qualified worldwide.....some I have never heard of......in the UK we are represented by Man C and Chelsea....it is decided who qualifies over a four year period......which maked me wonder how Liverpool and Arsenal never got considered. There are some players suggesting that this type of extra competition will shorten their playing careers and will mean players could be retiring at 30 years of age. England's U21's cannot be complaining seeing it allowed their star player to be available......Harvey Elliott from Liverpool.....and as the new season comes around I would suggest that Liverpool and Arsenal will have an advantage over Man C and Chelsea in the early part of the season. Also remember top players will be facing a busy summer next year with a World Cup being played.
CONFIRMED. Argyle have agreed a one season loan to Umm Salal SC for Michael Baidoo.....find it hard to understand the reasoning behind this....Baidoo could have been successful in Div One.
Being mentioned is.... that Argyle are showing interest in Brendan Wiredu......25yr old.....mid-fielder/full back/wing back at present with Fleetwood.
Maksym Talovierov and Victor Palsson should return to the club today for pre-season training.....having been given a concession because of international duties. Palsson is expected but there is speculation about Talovierov returning.......we will see what happens later.
1.....It seems that we will get a six figure loan fee. 2.....Wages paid. 3.....Option to turn his loan deal into a permanent move at the end. So a reasonable deal all round.
Well all the talk is that Maksym Talovierov is on the way to Stoke. How many more are there left to jump the ship.....this coming season looks more like a "steady the ship" season....i will be amazed if we can challenge for anything.....unless we get some experienced big hitters in.
