As long as it can be described as for Palestine it’s fine.

I replied to your post as it was picking up on that theme of breaking international humans rights laws v criminal damage.

Thanks for that ... there was me thinking that Gaza was a lovely tranquil place where kids played beneath the trees in sumptuous orchards whilst the adults feasted on wine, honey and ambrosia...

... we should never be complicit in, or enable (to any degree), the slaughter of women and children ... and measuring that by how much others are worse than us in doing it is, quite frankly, disgusting and rather ****ed up ...

If we are only enabling human rights laws to a lesser extent than others governments, it's acceptable, apparently... because it's just reality ... only it obviously isn't, because the Government took direct steps last September to ensure we, as a country, are not doing it to any extent ... hopefully they've captured everything that could contribute in those 30 cancelled export contracts ...

BREAKING: Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis says anti-IDF chants 'crossed a line' and no place at festival for 'hate speech'

Edit: I've removed the picture I put up with it because it had contained content from SKY that does not seem to show up when you post it here for some reason. Thus it makes it look as though I'm endorsing content that I am not.

Glastonbury Festival was created in 1970 as a place for people to come together and rejoice in music, the arts and the best of human endeavour. As a festival, we stand against all forms of war and terrorism. We will always believe in - and actively campaign for - hope, unity, peace and love.

With almost 4,000 performances at Glastonbury 2025, there will inevitably be artists and speakers appearing on our stages whose views we do not share, and a performer’s presence here should never be seen as a tacit endorsement of their opinions and beliefs.

However, we are appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan yesterday. Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.

I think there’s a few things our govt do which enable the IDF. Whilst not directly supplying weapons, we supply parts for jet fighters and we also supply reconnaissance flights for intel for the Israeli govt.

I think our govt were right to take a stance and cancel those contracts (although Netanyahu labelled it as anti semetic <doh> ) and the sanctions on people like that absolute death witch Daniella Weiss are the right thing to do, they need to go further and withdraw all support for the Israeli war machine all the while it is committing war crimes.

    The usual obfuscation.

See it on here the whole time.

Like it's physically impossible to just condemn something and move on.

Everything has to be "I take that seriously BUT we must consider the following..."
Or "I think that's wrong BUT if seen in the context of this then..."

When you reverse engineer what Streeting is saying, you realise just how disturbing and warped it is:

We won't police hate crime and calls to violence on UK soil until Israel gets its own house in order and stops settler violence against Palestinians.

I was going to write similar myself, but can't be arsed with the arguments I would get, so I'm pleased you've taken control of that handle.

My personal thoughts, as you mention it, was Wes should be dealing with the two items separately, not in the same breath or in the same sentence, it's like he is making excuses for his first remark covering it with his second.

The first one has nothing to do with UK law and the second one has. You’re trying to conflate two completely separate issues into one.

    Hope everyone is keeping well.
