So proud of how we as a country develop young talent. I would compare ua favourably to anyone in the world. It is not just how we develop them technically, but also tactically and mentally.

I coached before we had the England DNA. I coached inside the England DNA structure. I was really lucky and coached at St Georges park after it was built. What the DNA was set up to do it did ultra successfully. 11 years since it launched so the players we see now are complete products of it.

Our players are so technically excellent. Years ago the Germans, Dutch, Spanish would havd been considered ahead of us by some way. No more. Watching the likes of Alex Scott, Harvey Elliot and co proves how good we are. We have held onto what has always made England a respected team at the least which is our commitment to the game. Look at Cresswell and we see the tactically good and bravery to get in the way of everything. Anderson has been the best player in the tournament for me, he has everything and can use it. Stunning footballer.

Winning back to back Euros is a huge cause for celebration. I did at the final whistle - the malt was out. So proud of how we as a country have become world leaders in coaching and player development. So proud of this particular group who have missed one or two and not shown it.

Can they go on now and win the big pot. The World Cup if the pinnacle of football. We have the players available to us to do it for the next 12 years. The u19s are a super talented group as well. I wish Southgate was at the start of his tenure now. I am a Tuchel fan, but have doubts he will get the best out of the talent. If we can get the coach pick right, and it might be Tuchel who knows, we have a better chance than anyone else imo.

    Good post mate

The next step is the hardest isn't it, winning a major trophy at senior stage. The difference now than in the past is English youngsters are getting a chance at PL level and that's helping Emgland in tournaments

The WC will be an interesting one as a few real quality teams. I feel the issue with England over the years at senior level is still trying to fit players into a team rather than picking the actual best team - time will tell if Tuchel does that

As a Scot I hope you continue to try and fit the big names into a team as that rarely works lol

As a Scot I also dread when England win 1 major cup as I think a few will follow

We’ve got a couple of holes to fill but we don’t half have a lot of talent.

I actually thought at the start of this tournament it didn’t look as strong as the last batch, but then you’ve gotta think 4 years back the last batch weren’t established PL players.

Scott, Cresswell, Anderson, Elliott and Livaramento all absolutely superb.

From a selfish perspective I really think Cresswell needs to play PL, maybe somewhere in SR5…

I look at Tomori going Italy and essentially being binned by England.

We’ve come a long way from Dennis Wise and Carlton Palmer.

Spot on. We have played fantasy footy too often and not pick a team. Sven was most guilty of that.

If we can break that habit we have all the tools. Kane maybe the first test of that this coming tournament...

I am a big Tomori fan. Watched him on loan at Derby and he was the best player in the championship that year. He has been great at Milan. Certainly should be in and around the England squad.

Aye. Power and pace and good on the ball. He’s been overlooked for far inferior players.

Had a hope he might be one we brought in this summer. Not sure I would leave Milan like. If I were a player Italy would probably suit me down to the ground.
