We face Watford away in the Carabao Cup in August, couldn’t have picked a less interesting tie in my opinion
Hold tight guys, we are apparently about to witness our "really exciting" new coaching team deliver "a truly elite football programme". The rest of the Championship might as well give up now from the sound of it. https://www.canaries.co.uk/content/hogg-krause-garry-join-coaching-team
What exactly are you expecting the club to say? “Here are Steve and Tom. We’re a bit disappointed to be honest as they were our third choice duo to be on the coaching staff. Steve had a bit of a shocker in his last role and we are unconvinced by Tom’s talents, but they were cheap and will have to do. We are aiming for a training programme which exceeds mediocrity, keeps the first team walking and delivers the occasional first team player, but frankly we don’t have high hopes for that modest aim.”
I don’t know mate, you’re annoyed that they hadn’t secured their services quick enough and now the way they’ve been announced irks you…
Not at all. I am glad the positions have been filled - only time will tell us how good they are but as Rob says ' what did you expect them to say? '
Ah good, absolutely with you on the phrasing. You’d hope we wouldn’t sign any player or coach if they didn’t believe in them
It's a news item. The first seven paragraphs say all that's needed. The final four paragraphs are, as 1950 originally posted, "a load of over the top piffle".
But if he didn’t comment on the appointment a section of fans would complain that we aren’t hearing from the Sporting Director, he can’t win.
A nice piece on the potential youth players we might see make their breakthrough this season. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/opinion/25275001.will-grant-norwich-city-youth-prospects-2025-26/ Interestingly there seems to have been a shift around in the squad personnel on the club website in the last few days. Elliot Myles is listed as a member of the first team squad, so he will presumably provide competition for whoever comes in to replace Sainz. Adegboyega, Springett and Aboh are all listed as u21s which perhaps shows that their futures lie away from the club either on loan or permanently. A lot of u18s have moved up to the u21s leaving a pretty bare looking u18s squad that will need recruitment
I don't really care whether the U18s look 'pretty bare' it's not something the club should be concentrating on. The U23s can cover where necessary, I'm sure the ages of those listed on the clubs U23 page are <19? (sidenote: it wouldn't exactly be difficult for the web developer to actually state the age, rather than provide the D.o.B., but I digress). What actually looks thin on the ground is: Have we had any rumours on first team forwards? We surely can't be expecting Sargent to play every match this season, Crnac I don't think will be prolific enough, let alone starting off the bench. I'd gamble & offer Wycombe £1-1.5m for Kone to bolster the front
