I googled what all this noise was about, as I've not watched Glastonbury, and don't really know who kneecap are, so here is a tabloids take on it...

Controversial Irish band, Kneecap, led chants of 'F*** Keir Starmer' and urged crowds to riot in the Westminster courts during their headline set at Glastonbury Festival today.

The group's lead rapper, Liam O'Hanna, 27, whose stage name is Mo Chara, is on unconditional bail after being charged with terrorism for supporting Hezbollah, a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Addressing the charges to more than 30,000 revellers at Worthy Farm, his band mate Naoise Ó Cairealláin, known as Moglai Bap, said: 'Mo Chara is back in court for a trumped up terrorism charge.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...s-closes-stage-crowd-crush-fears-Kneecap.html

'It's not the first time there has been a miscarriage of justice for an Irish person in the British justice system. So now you know he's available on the 20th August at Westminster, support Mo Chara and let's start a riot in the courts.'

Later on in the hour long set, Mo Chara said: 'The Prime Minister of your country, not mine, said he didn't want us to play so f*** Keir Starmer,' before leading a chant against him.

The band's third member DJ Provai, whose real name is J. J. Ó Dochartaigh, removed a red boiler suit to reveal a Palestine Action t-shirt - a group the government are preparing to ban under UK anti-terrorism laws.

The controversial Irish language band took to social media an hour before their performance and posted a photo of DJ Provai wearing the shirt which read 'We are all Palestine Action' after the government moved to proscribe the organisation, making it a criminal offence to belong to or support Palestine Action.

Tensions had already been running high before the set began as they were preceded by the hip hop duo, Bob Vylan, who led chants of 'Death to the IDF' the Israel Defence Force.

It's okay for a country to break the law on international human rights and the result is dead kids dismembered and strew about in the remains a refuge camp

But if somebody breaks in to an RAF base and sprays a plane with red paint, they are the terrorist

Musicians and Artists have always used their platforms to speak out against war and social injustice. And trying to label them terrorists for doing so, just amplifies their cause.

I think it's interesting that some of the same people who rally about free speech when they feel that the world is too PC and they can't say what they want, are often the same people who are first to want to jump on stuff like this and shut it down.

As with Palestine Action though, this lot have done a bit more than speak out. Their manager is a smart bloke and exploited an opportunity. They’ve taken it a bit far so the young one will get a slap on the wrist in exchange for being catapulted to the sort of fame and dough they couldn’t have dreamed of.

I guess if I went on stage and live on the BBC calling for the deaths of Palestinians I wouldn’t be lauded by the smuggest anti-war, anti-racism campaigners constantly lusting for war and frothing about (((Zionists))).

These people don’t give a single **** about Palestinians or they’d be calling out Hamas and Hezbollah rather than cheering for them. Shagging Palestine is a catalyst for a career now in various professions.

Carrying a hostile environment over onto the mainland is not where this country should be going. Because as always just like the right wing arm in this country, that protest leads to division in society, so then in young minds it will become ok to hate aspects of our multicultural society, and what's with the republican face mask, along with its slang and slogans, thought we'd done with all that ****.

I'm pretty sure if this was the National Front, BNP or any of them groups, some people on here would be in hysterics shouting about it this morning.

While I enjoyed the tune Luv put up, not having listened to them before, let's leave these type of politics in Ireland eh, and stop dragging their divide here. Kick them out the country and keep them out, we don't need them, probably send the people that attacked the RAF to Ireland as well (tongue in cheek), they'll fit right in over there, afterall we all know how much Ireland loves our migrants.

We all know where this is going and some are openly applauding it, time to put a stop to it, ban them!...

Off to listen to the song @luvgonzo put up again now. :bandit:

Personally I think Zionism should be left well out of it.

But calling for the end to the indiscriminate slaughter is something I wholly support

You’ll be pushed to a higher tax bracket far faster if you don’t leave Zionism out of it.

Don't see how any of the Israel/Palestine chants are a criminal offence of sorts tbh but the bloke calling for a riot at a court will be in trouble I imagine.
