For all the possession Germany have had this second half of extra time they really haven’t looked like scoring. It’s been a case of get it wide and cross in hoping the lanky streak of piss might get a header on target
Good game that. Germany will feel unlucky after hitting bar at end of normal time and ET but great work from England. Some good performances in there with some key players missing because of club World Cup.
Germany were woeful against Italy. V 9. They finally got the extra time goal. This extra time is probably "a bridge too far"

England spent the last 10 mins in defensive mode, with 6 at the back, just inviting Germany on so they could have come unstuck but didn’t.
Food for thought ‘In this decade so far the men’s, women’s and u21 games have seen eight major finals, and England have been involved in six of them: won 3 and lost 3.
