Sat 28 Jun 2025 03.50 BSTLast modified on Sat 28 Jun 2025 12.03 BST Ukraine’s military has said it struck four warplanes at an airbase in central Russia’s Volgograd region as part of a drive to hit Russian war assets. It said on Telegram it had hit four Su-34 aircraft at the Marinovka base outside the city of Volgograd, about 900km (550 miles) from the Ukrainian border. The post on Friday said the operation was conducted by the military’s special operations branch, together with the SBU security service and other services of the military. “According to preliminary information, four aircraft were hit, specifically SU-34 planes, as well as technical-operational facilities where different warplanes are serviced and repaired,” the statement said. There was no immediate comment from the Russian military. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ussia-as-missile-attack-kills-five-in-ukraine
Best not tell them about Pythagoras then and the circle of fifths...anyway, even the Catholic church banned some music, well not really....not actually banned but discouraged it, the wolf interval, due to it's challenges to sing and harmonise..some humour...video set to start a certain point... I'd rather there weren't bombs raining down on Gaza and the hostages home but until Trump decides otherwise this will continue to be the case and our country needs money so we might as well supply them with the very small amount we do .
The reason we stopped supplying particular aircraft components was due to our Government's concerns about those components contributing to acts that contravened International Humanitarian Laws ... you may be OK with us only being fractionally responsible for killing women and kids ... but my view is that we shouldn't be complicit in any such deaths ... and therefore the action the Government took to ensure we couldn't be, was 100% the correct course ... "100 dead kids today but we're only responsible for about 4 or 5 based on how much we've supplied compared to others - so that's OK..."
He’s never cared about peace or even the Israeli hostages. I think he knows without war going on, he’s toast as leader.
Maybe not just as leader - those corruption charges could see him sharing a prison cell with a Palestinian
nice to know the death rate slumped after our Govts decision which i suspect had little to do with international law but more internal party politics
Not sure that's the most important thing here - we should just commend any action that inhibits potential crimes against International Humanitarian Law and saves civilian lives, surely? ... and if further proof were needed... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czry8g5n80zo
well we should but in the real world countries often will break them if they consider it a necessary evil and if they are a powerful / influential country they can be pretty secure in the knowledge nowt will happen to them afterwards
If Just Stop Oil get their way we will be in a dark place, and cold as well, no lights or heating apart from the rich and the Government
