Makes no sense to me after having to borrow the money to pay for Rapha, how they were able to even contemplate starting the project
Barca say they will play a friendly at their new stadium on the 10th of august, with 60,000 seats available! As for their finances, they just keep selling off stuff, VIP areas, barca tv and borrowing more money, feck knows how they do it hopefully one day it will all come crashing down.
I’m guessing that just like here, the revenue stream for a stadium is different from the costs of running the club, transfers etc. like Everton who didn’t have a pot to piss in, we’re close (or did get?) a points deduction but built their new ground.
I'm hoping the Red Bull network pulls something off for us. They have a track record of unearthing gems.
Oh it's easy enough just borrow the money to restructure the debt and finance the rebuild of the team and stadium. Take the new loan out over say 30 years and instantly you are back within parameters and financial goals.
Man utd are further in debt since the glazers took over with borrowed money yet still make a fortune for the owners.
Romano reporting Sunderland are on the verge of signing Habib Diarra,so one we'll not be getting. 35.5m euro. https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status...orum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=47775start=580
spunking the Bellingham money in a big splash… expected them to spread it around. Not sure what their PSR situation is. Maybe it’s a sign they’re going big. when we bid for him there was talk he might not want to come to us - but no such talk with Sunderland
They've overpaid if that fee is correct. Like Milky suggests, Sunderland need to upgrade most of the team and spending this amount on one player looks on the face of it quite a reckless decision.....unless they keep spending above and beyond their PSR limit.
Im not panicking - but pre-season training is starting shortly and at the moment our squad is weaker than last season. ok I am panicking
I wouldn’t be too quick to criticise Sunderland for a big signing. Let’s see what we bring in before mocking others. I’ve no idea how good the lad is but worrying that Sunderland were a more attractive prospect than us
Yes, apparently he didnt fancy a relegation battle. Perhaps there was no more interest and they've made a bigger bid than us. He possibly sees it as a stepping stone to a bigger club, putting himself in the shop window playing in the PL, that's the reason for the change of heart. All supposition on my part
Are they more an attractive prospect or is it they were just prepared to splash more cash at him, fee and wage, who knows.
Agree Gessa think Blunderland went in with a bid that was accepted straight up as we pizzed about as normal adding £5 quid each week. We stopped bidding and told them thanks but no thanks we are not matching that fee and it was the end. Cant say if its a good price or over rhe odds as i really dont know enough about the kid. All I hear he was good but cant be that good if none of the other Prem teams were even sniffing. Seemed to be just rhe promoted teams.
