Not even the best team from Auckland apparently. Basically a bunch of part timers . Mind you some of the European teams have been embarrassed themselves .
They're not part-timers, they're amateurs - nothing to do with the A League team of similar name. Founded only 20 or so years ago, they play in the all-amateur Northern League and are recognised as the top side in Oceania football - which is why they play in the World Club Cup so often. They actually finished third in the competition in 2014.
Ex Swansea and Notts County manager Luke Williams helping out in the community . Fair play to him too . https://x.com/TheAthleticFC/status/1936452346491351279
https://www.flashscore.co.uk/match/football/fJgCSLFs/#/match-summary Must have been a really crazy game to see .
Lyon relegated due to financial irregularities. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy7ng4vj8leo Of course people are asking when Man City will be dealt with ?
Wasn’t there an ex Preston and QPR striker with the same name ?! https://x.com/dcfcstephen/status/1938672565385384155
Bordeaux, one of the large clubs here, were relegated to the amateur ranks duue to the financial mess they were in. Their top scorer with 10 goals was Andy Carroll, but they missed out on promotion back to the professional division.
Fantastic from the Under 21s. Well played . Great to come back from losing that lead and keep going . Excellent play and resilience shown .
Man city out of the Club World Cup after losing 3-4 to Saudi side Al-Hilal - leaves Chelsea as the sole English hope left...
Will Pep be that bothered ? Means his squad gets some rest which he asked for. The money men might not be so happy to write this off though .
I really could not give a toss about these matches that are only there to rake in a bit more money./ I have no affinity with the teams, and do not want all the year round football. Cricket, tennis , cycling, athletics provide a welcome break from who is spending the most money on transfers.
