Tiote - This keeps popping up, any one think any truth in this?

TIOTE A BLUE
Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote is, meanwhile, reportedly close to securing a £20m move to Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast international, who has missed his side's last few matches with a knee injury - that has coincided with their recent drop in form - has already made contact with Blues officials.

The London club are naturally keen on Tiote to sign in January with reports in the press suggesting that a deal is not beyond all realms of possibility, but that it will only happen next season.

Tiote only cost Newcastle £3.5m in August 2010 and could make the North East side a pretty profit when they do decide to sell - and even more so if Manchester United follow up on their interest.


i have always thought Tiote would end up at Chelsea.....

Was going to say I thought he said he didn't like London.

 

I doubt Chelsea will make a move for Tiote in the January window, not if he's going to be tied up in the ANC. What would be the point in that? Surely, they'd wait until the Summer?

I've got to say, though, that I think you guys are going to have a very rough ride without him. He's been so solid for you.

 

He's rejected them before and he'll reject them again.

Oh and not exactly the most reliable source in the world , is it.

 

He's been injured for ages already yet we still managed to beat stoke and get a draw against man u.

These 'Journalists' need to look back at previous events, and interviews. He has signed a 6 and a half year contract with the club. So, in my view, its going to take more than £20 Million to take him. Secondly, as mentioned, Cheik has already said he doesnt like the London life, and is happy with Newcastle.

Unlike when most players say it, with Tiote, I believe him. When he says, he's commited. Simply down to that 6 year contract.

 

Can't sell ANY players in January, yesterday showed us that.

 

I reckon he's off along with Colocinni...

We're building a strong team, but when big money and big names come in for your players there's very little any club can do!

Also, whilst our 1st team is strong, our squad depth is awful and if £20m was invested in the same vein as the previous year and a half we could realistically have a European squad by the start of the 2012/13 season!

Andy Carroll had just signed a 5 year contract, and had said he loved Newcastle and wanted to stay and break Shearer's record.

Players talk a lot of ****, really.

 

£20 million for the leagues best ball winner who's contracted till 2017, I think Ashley's a better businessman to only accept £20 mil tbh.

 

Or he could be injured?

 

I've got a horrible feeling he'll end up replacing Lucas at Liverpool.
