It does now appear that Trump was telling porkies as a number of politicians who attend a classified de-briefing on the bombing are chucking cold water on his “obliterated” claims.
IMO it was all theatre for the NATO summit, just so his ego would be stroked.

It wouldn't surprise me at all, it helps reform, which is the political party Putin owns.

I'm confused by it tbph mate.

Most the claims seem to lead back to the Sun, and from other media sources it says 'senior government sources' say, blah blah blah.

The only comment I could verify was one from Security Minister Dan Jarvis (Labour) but I couldn't see where he mentioned 'hostile state.'

This is what he did say, copied from the Sun, does it suggest hostile states are involved?...

Security Minister Dan Jarvis said: “National security is the first duty of any government — and that means securing our borders.

“We are improving our ability to monitor and anticipate illegal migration flows at both national and international levels, including investing in new state-of-the-art surveillance technology.

“Our Border Security Command is drawing together security operations around our border.
“This means working in close co-operation with Europol, Frontex and individual EU member states to combat organised immigration crime.

“New counter terrorism-style powers will tackle organised immigration crime groups, and existing capabilities carry out identity and criminal record checks on those applying for a visa, clandestine entries and those who arrive by small boat, so that potential threats are immediately addressed.”

However, it's been known for a long time now, that Belarus were pushing migrants across the EU border, maybe they are referring to that. I think we saw some crackdown on it, but I can't remember by whom, probably Poland.

Thus they then get to France and they let them cross the channel to us. Clearly the EU including France could quell these numbers if they really wanted to, but it's cheaper to let them come to us, because the ****s are still sulking after the result in 2016.

So we are being punished for making a choice, everyone knows it's not right and people die as a result all the time, but in reality no one cares, as long as the problem keeps moving let them die is the mentality behind all this.

I was hoping with Starmer having built bridges this past year the situation would change, but who needs friends when you have neighbours like these. It's always been the plan of the EU, flood in migrants and change cultures and exploit the most vulnerable. I think they are all a bunch of ****s in the same way Putin does.

Trouble is Putin has gone a bit crazy horse over it. I don't agree with the war, and I hate the EU as much as ever. Happy to do business on an independent level with each state, but about time the ****s did us a favour, they won't!

The cops have arrested four people in relation to the Brize Norton attack.

Spraying red paint onto aircraft is silly but arresting them for terror offences is ridiculous.

I don't think they have much choice if you damage military aircraft. Somehow you have to keep law and order, and you cannot allow people for any reason to go around and do this sort of stuff. So the only way to curb it is to chuck the full book of the law at them.

I see it like this, at the end of the day they are our military and our hardware that keeps this country safe, we cannot allow people therefore to do anything that takes that equipment out of action.

Now if the protest had not involved criminal damage, you'd get no argument from me, there are many other things they could do to remonstrate but theirs was not the way. Especially equipment that hadn't even assisted in actions against Palestinians.

Iran would just shoot you if that was done to their aircraft or you'd be minus a hand or two. Choppy, choppy.

It isn't as simple as that.

They uploaded a bunch of pictures and videos to social media which I'm sure out enemies would have been delighted to see. Basically a free glimpse into a major RAF base.

The spray paint wasn't the issue. Compromising national security is.

They wanted to make an example of them because they exposed the lax security at Brize Norton

    And so they should.

Heads should also roll at the base itself.

Thing is mate the group they represent is going to be proscribed as a terrorist group. Also I believe the intention was to attack other military bases the same, so as they are attacking military equipment on military bases it's terrorism. Anything MOD is protected spaces, therefore no right of way for the public or any protests. It can be a prison sentence just for trespass. Certain MOD sites also come under SOCAP which automatically refers to serious organised crime - which is what I suspect they are looking at it under.

Does anybody remember the case where the judge aquitted the people charged with damaging jets that were bound for Saudi (I think) on the basis that they were trying to prevent a breach of human rights abuses ?

That group are a nuisance but again imo they’re not terrorists at all.
