For me id have to say Adam Johnson. I remember when the news broke through at work the Friday morning before the new season started that he'd signed and i couldnt believe we'd managed to get a player of that calibre to sign for us. The lads at work who are all Boro fans thought I was winding them up when i told them, they were equally as shocked as me when they realised I wasnt. I must say despite doing well for us before his conviction, he never hit the levels that i expected from him.
Sessegnon, loved watching him at PSG and couldn't believe when we signed him Was also buzzing about Ballard when he signed
Loads! Recent ones I remember Giacherrini Ricky Alvarez Scocco Riveros Johnson Rodwell Altidore Defoe
Id never heard of Sess before, but when he signed i watched him on YouTube and he looked amazing so i was excited to see how he'd do for us. I went to his debut and i thought we'd signed Maradonna. What a player he was
I watched him in a friendly for PSG against Arsenal a yr or 2 before we signed him and just loved him Just a proper player
Claudio Marangoni, just for the name to be honest at the time. Tor Andre Flo (sp) Paul Bracewell, first time around. That lad that scored loads in his career and for the Mags, David (can’t remember) but we played him in the wing out of the way. Helder I think he was called, great centre half that Reidy wouldn’t play.
It used to frustrate me despite only being about 5 foot 5, watching Bruce constantly play him as a lone striker. Id loved to have seen him play on the RW more often so he was able to run at the fullbacks. He looked lost sometimes upfront chasing loose balls.
Frank Worthington when I was a kid, I loved watching him, he was finished when he came here for his brief spell but still had a bit about him.
I think your wrong mate, cant be arsed doing the research but i think youd find he played mainly as a lone striker for us
Me neither mate, i only ever remember him playing alone upfront though. Maybes some other posters on here can clarify this.
