Was first to get picked out for the first trip to Turkey. Well deserved, far more than some who went and others who moaned they didn’t get picked.
He is Curtis Woodhouse’s godfather, was Bernard’s best mate.

It is my 68th year, first game I went to was Chester in 1957. I was 9 and went with 2 school pals who were in the school football team (it would be allowed today). Got the number 9 bus from Anlaby Common to Calvert lane, say in front of us Johnny Steven's City's right-winger, most players when on the bus to the ground. How times have changed.

We were probably on the same bus going to the games in those days !
Went with my grandad who lived at #3, Spring Gardens. Walked down North Rd to B. Park, stopping off at a newsagents on the corner for grandad's paper and a bag of sweets for me. Stood behind North stand goal straining over the pitch side metal fence admiring Billy Bly's often magical performances. He used to own a sweet shop, but I can't recall if it was the same as the newsagents close to the ground ? Bill Bradbury - what a player he was. Brian Bulless, Paul Feasey , Douggie Clarke, Les Collinson, captain Andy "Jock" Davidson, et al.

    Happy days.

Just another update on that time I just started remembering the student he was called Nicholas he drove a 2 seater small silver sports car and looked a bit like Tony currie did years later now I even remember he used to wear a brown velvet type coat what looked like a colourful knitted v neck jumper a big flared trousers, lol this thread made me remember way back then when I usually don’t ever think about it.

After my time there, was that the last house on the corner?

As a matter of interest our neighbour at 57 was still there last year, she had her 100 birthday, and as far as I know she is still alive.
