‘Course they do you get twice as much filling over the two slices… or just be a greedy get like me & stick an extra layer of bread on top… annoys my wife, but hey ho ..
I love a bacon sarnie, but the thing is you can have so many variations on it. Bacon and egg, bacon and sausage, bacon and mushroom, bacon sausage and egg... It's really hard to pick a favourite. But for your consideration (if not already mentioned) a bacon and blue cheese sandwich. Fried bacon with some nice Stilton or Shropshire blue crumbled onto the bacon while it's still hot. Gives the cheese a chance to melt a bit into the bacon. Works equally well as a toastie.
love sarnies mate. There’s loads more forgot about the bbq pork ‘bahn mi’ - a Vietnamese baguette. Got recently introduced to this. Sounds weird, but outstanding. Meaty, fresh and has a bit of a kick
Hog roast with apple sauce and stuffing in a big soft white bap, with crackling on the side and gravy to dip the sandwich in. Phhoaarr
If pek and spam get in, bacon grill needs an honorable mention. Personal favourite is ham and pease pud. None of the shop bought mass produced pease pudding mind, has to be made the proper way using the stock from a boiled ham.
Yeh but, no but, yeh but… at the risk of getting a red card, I stand by the chocolate digestive biscuit sandwich suggestion. Try it and prepare to be converted!!
If we're going with hot sandwiches; Skirt steak off the bbq, rested for 10 mins and sliced into strips against the grain, placed in a Bazlama (turkish flat bread) with Cacik (tzatziki) and grilled onions.
Suppose we have to mention a Dicksons Saveloy dip mind. Champions League for sure, whether dipped or crunch with crackling. Outstanding snackery.
Love a Tuna mayonnaise and red onion, when i was a kid loved my mother’s corned beef and beetroot sarnie but the real deal is a crispy bacon sarnie
