Suffolk's mention of a new focus on wingers was clarified by Samuel Seaman in the Pinkun 45 minutes ago along with a review of transfers completed and others imminent:

"Wingers are a transfer priority for Norwich City as the expected departure of star man Borja Sainz looms. Replacements for Sainz and outgoing loanee Lewis Dobbin will be sought by Canaries sporting director Ben Knapper this summer, although Dobbin remains a live option being considered. Those talks have slowed down since they kicked off in the Club World Cup, with Sainz's preference a return to boyhood club Athletic Bilbao. That's allowed Norwich to focus on their defensive rebuild, bringing goalkeepers Daniel Grimshaw and Louie Moulden in as well as centre-back Harry Darling. Ajax's Jakov Medić and Sporting goalkeeper Vladan Kovačević are set to add to that department in short order. Central defender Medić will to sign an initial three-year deal and cost £1.8million, with only paperwork between the Dutch giants and his current loan club VfL Bochum holding up confirmation. Kovačević flies to England this week to complete a move worth £2m plus add-ons and become City's first-choice stopper. He's yet to land in Norfolk, meaning an official announcement is close but not imminent.

Once those deals are done the focus will shift to the aforementioned wide areas and the pursuit of a central midfielder - another of Knapper's key tasks since the end of last season. The permanent signing of Manchester City loanee Jacob Wright took Manning's number of engine room options to nine, but Norwich are keen to add quality to a group already strong on quantity. Potential replacements for player of the season Josh Sargent have been considered, although no senior strikers are likely to be brought in unless he departs. Interest in the American has been strong but no firm offers have yet been received."

"Norwich City have reached an agreement with Sporting Club de Portugal for Vladan Kovačević to join the Canaries this summer. That’s according to A Bola, who report that Norwich are set to pay €2.4m for the 27-year-old goalkeeper. That could rise beyond €3m with bonuses and 10% of any profit on a future sale. This is backed up by journalist Sebastião Sousa-Pinto, who reports that the clock is ticking on the transfer. According to his information, Kovačević has already travelled to England to undergo a medical with Norwich. That is booked in for tomorrow and the final step for the transfer as everything is in order between Norwich and Sporting."

Interesting wording from the PinkUn in an article announcing that Ryan Garry will also be added to the first team coaching staff:

“Hogg and Krause have made the move to Colney ahead of announcements of their respective roles as assistant head coach and coach/analyst, reuniting with long-time associate and new City chief Liam Manning.”

Although Aarons departed some while ago, he has just joined Rangers on loan from Bournemouth. Gone to play at Russel Martins new club.

Yes, it seems that they have moved over to join Manning before the official agreement is formalised and Garry now completes the coaching team.

"He'll become a first-team coach in City's expanded setup, replacing Jack Wilshere following his departure after missing out on the top job. Garry, Hogg and Krause will work with head of goalkeeping Tony Roberts and set-piece chief Nick Stanley, who both joined the club last term."

Garry describes his own approach like this:

"As a coach looking to develop players, you have to understand where a person is in their own journey, be there for them and try to guide and help. Ultimately, though, it will always come down to the player: the person they are and what they are prepared to do themselves. One of my key pillars is to control the controllables. For example, controlling the effort that you put in to getting better. If a team understands what they can control and puts the right amount of energy and focus into it, they are going to be in a good position."

Shouldn't that read: "Keep panicking; the same medics are still here"? ;)

Benjamin Bloom is a good commenter on EFL ongoings and has provided an update on the transfer window so far across the Championship. Even as a Binners fan he has always been very fair in his assessments across the board.
Skip to 27:20 if you are only interested in hearing what he has to say about Norwich.

Yes, he's very positive about the done deals, but obviously couldn't include the Medić signing or Kovačević which should be finalised soon if he did have a medical yesterday (and no, Medić wasn't involved in that, lol). Kovačević should pretty well complete the defensive improvements.

As he says, however, much will depend on whether Sainz and/or Sargent and/or Núñez
leave and who we get in to replace them if they do. The present emphasis on wingers suggests the likelihood of Sainz leaving. Sargent and Núñez are currently less likely, but much will depend on who replaces them if they do. So far so good, IMO, which is not what I was feeling at this time last summer.

As much as I liked Gunny , it's very refreshing that someone has looked at our appalling defensive record & just ripped out the problems at the root with a brand new defensive line backed up by promising academy boys .

If we can sell Sainz & keep Sargent I'll be quietly optimistic next season
