Or don't want to come here yet until the higher level Clubs have finished their business. Realistically, a player will usually prefer to go to Man C or Liverpool if they have the chance before picking us assuming everything else is equal. Sometimes, we just have to wait and be patient.
I refuse to believe that in the leagues around the globe that there isn't a player better and cheaper than him. You just know Brighton have a 21yr old Venezuelan kid on their radar that's gonna cost them about £1.75 and a copy of readers wives.
Dunno why people don't want Elanga, he's been great since leaving Forest. All seems to have gone a bit quiet regarding João Pedro sadly.
Or we go for players that are not ridiculously over priced and find some players that are not at the height of their value.
He probably isn't at the height of his value. Looking at the vast majority of our more expensive signings - they've still increased in value. Botman and Barnes would be the exceptions due to injuries and lack of appearances and both of those would likely otherwise have increased. As it is, they have probably at least held value. For the rest: Bruno G: £35m > £100m Livramento: £30m > £80m+ Hall: £28m > £80m+ Gordon: £40m > £80m+ Tonali: £55m > £110m+ Isak: £63m > £150m+ Lets throw in Joelinton too: £40m > £80m+
And you back my point up. We got all of these players for sensible fees. 55m for Elanga is just bonkers.
