I don't care if Perch and Simpson are smaller than the opposing strikers, they didn't even see Holt coming through the middle on the 3rd goal! They were planted 4 yards out from goal and watched as he smashed it past them.

That said, I agree, Cabaye was his usual composed self,
    Ba was clinical,
Santon gives me faith that Jonas doesn't have to cover his ass as much as he does when Raylor's behind him.
    And Obertan was simply useless.
As for Shola, meh, I thought he might earn himself a second yellow with how he was bellowing at the ref for awhile, but I'd call it an average performance from him.

This. I think a lot of arguments come from the fact that people use the rating out of 10 differently.

Anyway going over some things previously mentioned in the thread:

    - We didn't lose just because our CB's were short. OK, they wouldn't have won many headers, but 3 of Norwhich's goals came from free headers! If Perch or Simpson were challenging in the air they could be excused but they were just leaving people completely unmarked.

    - I don't see how anyone can call it a gutless performance. Just because we didn't play well doesn't mean the players didn't battle. If there's one thing that you can't question in our side this year, it's commitment.

As a team we played well and in open play looked dangerous, BUT IMO Pardew got his tactics wrong by putting Perch and Simpson in as CB cause we just couldn't defend set peices.
Think it would have been better to have put either Kadar( who didn't even make the bench) or Santon in there, but for what ever reason Pardew thought Simpson and Perch were a better option.

Let's just hope we have taken the hit for one game and Collo, Willo and Tiote are back for Swansea at SJP.

I think from what I've seen of Norwich, had we had all our players fit we would have steam rollered them IMO. But because we had players out and Gosling being a tard it cost us, be worried if we don't get anything from the Swansea match.

I didnt see the game, but based on the higlights and the stats the reason we lost this game was due to an inability to defend set-pieces and two moments of stupidity from Gosling. We scored two away from home which most days would get you something.

Going on from the above I cant see any reason for changing the front two, especially given Shola nearly had 2 assists for Ba which suggests they are developing a good understanding on the training ground and on the pitch. I havent seen the same link-up from HBA and Ba as yet (which would be my preferred choice if they were clicking) - until they click Shola and Ba should be our front two against Swansea

Madness, he was very good by Shola standards. Some very good passes, good holding the ball up. A good assist, could of been 2 assist if Ba didn't volley it over.

    Krul 6
    Raylor 4
    Simpson 6
    Perch 4
    Santon 7
    Obertan 1
    Cabaye 7
    Gosling 5
    Jonas 6
    Ameobi 7
    Ba 9

    Sammy - 6

    For me

Simpson and perch were absolutely dreadful. Simpson being the worst as I would expect, their marking was non existent they weren't even challenging for the headers and I thought both raylor and Danton were poor aswell.

I actually thought obertan looked class in the second half, looked like j
He turned it up a notch and was running atplayers
    For a change.

Gosling is ****, I know it's early days but I think hes ****, he's like a young Nolan offers nothing other than popping up to have efforts on goal, careless challenge aswell which although not a straight red was definitely worth a second yellow.

Cabaye had a better game than gosling, a wonderful assist for Ba but I still didn't think he set the world alight either, probably because he has to cover for gosling.

Gutierrez was good defensively but was stifled in attack.

Ba was incredible and not just because of his goals, he was dropping back to help the midfield tirelessly and was our best player.

Amoebi was decent when gosling went off and did well to assist the second Ba goal, but for the life of me I don't know why Leon best is getting game time. I understand the decision not to play Ben arfa because he's been below average but best has been good before injuries.

All in all we NEED Willo and colo back ASAP!

Best was good near the start of the season, but has been pretty ineffective since then. I think he and Shola are at about the same level really.
